Advantages: smells nice
Disadvantages: Doesn't work
I just hate it when I’m standing next to someone who has got BO. Whiffy. I get paranoid thinking it may be me. I stand there trying to sniff myself, without being too obvious. I like trying new anti-perspirants. I like comparing them to see which one works best for me. There are such a lot on the market these days that I am spoilt for choice. This week I bought Soft&Gentle Aloe (after hours fragrance) They do have other fragrances. The fragrances that were available at my local Tesco were: Soft Jasmine, Aqua cool and cool cotton. I paid £1.99 for 45g. I think that’s about an average price to pay. This is a roll up anti-perspirant. You take off the plastic lid and turn the dial to make the creamy stick pop up just enough for you to apply to your underarms. Put a nice even layer on but don’t over do it, or you will just be over creamy and never dry out. ---------------------------------------------- -------------------------------- ------------------------- This is what it says on the packaging. Do not use on broken skin. If irritation develops, discontinue use. Keep out of reach of children. ---------------------------------------------- -------------------------------- ------------------------- This after hours anti-perspirant/ deodorant came in a purple container/ bottle (I don’t know what to call it) with the words soft&gentle in white writing on the front of the container. The brand name Palmolive was also in white writing, but placed in a green oblong box above the soft and gentle writing. The manufactures claim that it gives you 24 hour protection. I am sorry to disagree with them, I started getting a bit wet and sweaty after 5 hours. I cannot blame hot weather, I wasn’t running around like a mad fool or having hot flushes. I was just pottering around the house, nothing too strenuous. So I wouldn’t really trust this if I was going to
the gym or going for a night out dancing. I am not going to knock this for its fragrance it was an after hours smell, sophisticated but not over powering with the underlying tones of aloe drifting through. So for about 5 hours I smelt good. The white cream was very smooth, easy to apply and it did dry fast. It didn’t irritate my skin. Having said all of that it didn’t do the job it was supposed to do. I like to add a few facts to some of my ops, for anybody who may be interested. Why does the underarm part of your clothes look yellowish. No, do not blame your anti perspirant, saying that it has stained your clothes. The sweat that is produced in apocrine sweat glands contains proteins and fatty acids, that is why it is thicker and has a milky yellowish colour, thus staining your clothes. Why do you smell? Sweat itself has no odour The smell comes when the bacteria on your skin mixes with the proteins and fatty acids and you start to smell. Deodorants just cover up underarm smells. A bit like when you stand next to someone who hasn’t bathed for a few days and sprays themselves in lots of cheap perfume to hide the smell. YUCK. Antiperspirants slow down the production of underarm sweat. This product is a mixture of the both. So in theory it should do a good job. Ingredients:Aluminum Zirconium, Tetrachlorohydrex Glycine Complex, Cyclomethicone, Stearyl Alcohol, PPG-14 Butyl Ether, Phenyl trimethicone , Hydrogenated Castor Oil, PEG-8 Distearate, Parfum, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice I don’t know if this product is tested on animals or not. If you have any questions or complaints contact: Colgate-Palmolive Mennen LTD Guildford Surrey GU2 8JZ Would I buy it again. No, not really unless I was desperate. I prefer dove and sure out of all of the different ones I’ve tried, they both work better for me. Not everyone is the same th
ough, perhaps it does work for some but certainly not for me.T Thanks for the read.
