      ST IVES HAS CREATED A WONDER PRODUCT!

      St Ives is a beauty company founded around 25years ago. They produce various body products which are natural and contain a special Swiss formulation. This formulation is made up of Swiss glacial water, botanicals and natural ingredients.
      The range includes scrubs, shower gels and various lotions and potions.

      ~~~Product~~~
      St Ives produced a body lotion which is named Renewing Collagen Elastin. It is designed with natural moisturisers and for extra dry skin.
      This lotion has been enriched with collagen and elastin proteins which work together to revive and deeply moisturise dry skin whilst leaving it soft and radiant. It also should improve the visible appearance of the skin with daily use.
      The lotion has been dermatologically tested and is hypo-allergenic. It contains no parabens or phthalates.
      ~~~Packaging~~~

      The lotion comes in a large, white bottle which isn't transparent. The lid is at the top concealing a good sized dispensing hole. The design of the bottle is simple and unfussy. The front shows us the product name and some information about it. The back simply tells us about the lotion inside, about the company, directions for use, ingredients and contact details for the company.

      The bottle can be recycled and should be used up within 12months of first opening.

      ~~~Using~~~
      This can be used as an allover body moisturiser and it is recommended that you used it at least once each day as this will help to build up a regular moisturisation within yours skin.Smooth over your body and rub in gently til absorbed.
      ~~~Ingredients~~~

      I feel it is important to include these as the company claims to use natural ingredients :

      Water, glycerin, paraffinum liquidim, propylene glycol, glycol stearic acid, petrolatum, glyceryl stearic, dimethicone, phenoxyethanal, triethanolamine, cetyl alcohol, fragrance, magnesium aluminium silicate, carbomer, ethylhexylglycerin, tetrasodium EDTA, stearamide AMP, hydroxylsohexyl, 3-cyclohexene carboxaldehyde, hydrolyzed elastin, hydrolyzed collagen.

      ~~~Availability and Price~~~
      I picked up my 400ml bottle in an Asda sale for only 75p! I have searched around and found Superdrug do one which seems the same at £4.29.
      ~~~My Thoughts~~~

      I suffer with dry and sore skin over alot of my body. I also have a skin condition on my arms which I have had since being a baby. I didn't use the recommended cream when I was younger so am paying for it now as my skin becomes tight and uncomfortable. I am always on the lookout for moisturising lotions that will give me a bit of relief. I struck gold when my local Asda were selling this St Ives one at only 75p. For 400ml this is a bargain and I have since been back to stock up more..first impressions were certainly good!

      The bottle is certainly uninspiring in design and is heavy making it slightly awkward to hold for long periods of time. I can't see how much is left which is annoying and getting the dregs from the bottom of the bottle may prove difficult but I am a long way of finishing my first bottle I won't ponder on this too much! I shower both morning and night and like to use this when my skin feels extra dried out and in need of a serious boost! Using after the shower is my preferred option and after drying off, I can relax and smooth it on.

      I find that lotions designed for dry skin tend to be quite thick as this one was no exception. It was rich and adopted a pure white colour. I expected it to be plain smelling but the scent was a big suprise to me. A sweet, fruity aroma was present and although I couldn't decide what it resembled, I settled on perhaps some exotic blend like papaya and pineapple. It was like a thick yoghurt which was creamy with a fruity flavour and very appealing to my nose indeed

      The lotion is creamy and extra cooling when it makes contact with my skin. A little relief after a hot shower proving to be refreshing and welcoming. The thickness is excellent and once it touches my skin, it starts to melt and instantly soothe any soreness. I used it on slightly sunburned skin and it was amazing as it took the heat off the surface of my skin. It spreads very well and thins out as I massage it over my skin. Despite my skin being dry, the lotion lathers up lightly on my skin before soaking in.

      The lotion once massaged in leaves a slight stickiness on my skins surface but soon fully absorbs. Once absorbed I can put my clothes or pjs on immediately without them sticking to my skin. The results are immediate and impressive especially considering the price I paid for this lotion! On my arms, the sore skin is smooth and less tight. It feels extra hydrated and moisturised. The lotion works particularly well on my legs and moreso after shaving when my skin can be rather tender. It softens out and generally my skin appear healthier and brighter. The lotion didn't feel heavy on my skin but I could feel it doing its job and softening out my skin.

      My skin feels soft and hydrated all day. As I shower morning and night, anything I apply during the day gets washed off and needs reapplied. This lotions effects could still be detected after showering but I did need a top up to see me through til my nexxt shower. The beautiful exotic scent remained as a light trace on my skin for a few hours before changing to a simple, fresh scent to the nose.

      The recommended application is at least once a day but I generally apply it morning and night and found this to suit my skin best. I have noticed a great improvement in the general look and feel of my skin over the past few weeks and really like it as I feel my skin can breathe more and is healthier than before. It works a lot better than regular body lotions and even body butters as the rich cream seems to get deeper down into the layers of my skin and relief the tightness which causes discomfort and takes the moisture away leaving dryness behind.

      I usually only use face creams on my face but have tried a little drop of St Ives on my forehead which is really dry. I found it to be quite greasy on contact and heavy so left it overnight and woke up with a smooth, forehead free of dry skin! An added bonus and use for this wonderful product! It is natural and no parabens are added so you can rest assured that you aren't slathering your body in unneccessary chemicals.They have produced the formula just right and the lotion is effective and smells gorgeous!

      My first bottle is lasting extremely well and I am glad I stocked up as 75p for a great all over body lotion is a bargain so check out your local Asda..you might get lucky!

      Thanks for reading!x

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        A decent body lotion by a well known brand

        This body lotion by St Ives is one of the many that I have lurking in the bathroom cupboard (so expect several more reviews on similar products)!

        Packaging:
        The lotion I have comes in a large, firm plastic bottle containing 400ml of product. It has a flip lid and the bottle requires squeezing to get the lotion out. On the front is the St Ives logo, product name and the statement that it is for extra dry skin (excellent as I have very dry knees). On the reverse is a strap line and the regular list of ingredients that we have all come to expect with this type of product.

        As mentioned above you are required to squeeze the bottle to get the body lotion out - this isn't a problem until you've used about two thirds, then you start to struggle. I have to shake the bottle and then squeeze it really hard (the plastic is a bit too tough) usually nothing comes out and then far too much comes out in one go - this is a design failure that I feel really needs working on.

        Looking online it appears that this particular product in the St Ives range comes in a number of different packagings you if you can find an alternative to the one mentioned above, I would suggest buying that instead.

        The body lotion itself:
        Once you've managed to get out some of the lotion you are met with a subtle, pleasant, but not easily definable smell. To the touch it feels very soft and creamy and it easily soaks into the skin leaving it feeling cool and moisturised.

        On the bottle it claims that this product is formulated for extra dry skin and I can confirm that it does give a degree of instant relief on dry patches (such as my knees) however you will need to apply on a regular basis to keep it from drying out again, so this can't be considered an instant fix.

        After application you will probably feel the need to wash your hands as the body lotion leaves them feeling a little greasy - luckily this isn't the case with the skin on the rest of your body.

        The 400ml I find lasts me a couple of months with once daily applications to my legs, of course how long it lasts will depend on individual uses.

        Price:
        This product, in the format mentioned above, is currently available from Superdrug for a cost of £4.29 which I feel is an acceptable price because St Ives are a well respected company and the product is of good quality.

        Overall I would recommend this body lotion if you have dry skin.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        definatley worth trying

        This St Ives body lotion comes in a white 400ml bottle and it costs £4.29, It is available in Superdrug which is where mine is from though i'm sure I have seen it in Boots and other chemists aswell.
        The product has a very nice smell it doesn't really smell of something but it is a fresh and clean smell. It is quite a strong smell and you can smell it faintly when it is on your skin.
        It is quite a thick and creamy lotion. It absorbs well into your skin you don't really need that much of it as it is quite a greasy lotion but this really hepls to get rid of your dry skin and it doesn't feel greasy on your skin. The effects are really good it reduces the appearance of the dry skin as soon as you rub it in and after a few days use the dry skin does go away.
        It is lovely to wear it leaves your skin feeling smooth and silky it has a light and fresh feel to it. It leaves a shiny sort of glow and your skin looks radiant and healthy. If you are wanting to get rid of dry skin I would definatley try this product as it even works on knees and elbows.
