Advantages: Natural colour, not streaky or sticky
Disadvantages: Price & gave me a rash, not fool proof
Like most people I’ve tried loads and loads of fake tans, most I’ve found either hard to apply, streaky or very smelly.
I'd gotten fed up of hunting around for a product that would give me a natural looking tan, and so decided that, despite the price, I’d give St Tropez Whipped bronze mousse a go. I've never heard a bad word said about it, and was convinced that it would work.
I applied it one evening, after I exfoliated and applied a moisturiser. I wore some gloves so the product didn’t stain my hands, and all in all, it took me just over an hour to apply the product to my whole body and my face also. I was worried about doing my face, in case something horrific happened and I came out orange but I had faith in this product. It was easy to apply as the guide colour showed you where you'd put it. Very helpful and something ALL fake tans should have.
The colour looked natural and good, not too dark (I’m very pale so this is important to me) and not orange. It smells nice when it first goes on, but after about an hour or so, it starts to smell like a 'fake tan' (but if you apply it at night this doesn’t really matter). It’s not too sticky either. I was very confident that this was the product I’d been searching for...
Until about three hours after application, and lying in bed, my arms started to itch. When I woke in the morning, I had a slight rash on my arms and neck and was itching like mad. I decided to have a shower, but this did little to relieve my discomfort. I'm still itching now, 24 hours after application and feel like I’ve got fleas!! Lovely. It had also rubbed off onto my Pyjamas and made them brown.
I would recommend this product, but with caution. I have slightly sensitive skin, however I use loads of products and never usually react like this. It's surprised me because none of the other 101 fake tans i've tried have done this.
I wouldn’t touch this product if your skin is sensitive...otherwise I would say it's worth the price tag. It gives a good colour and if it weren’t for the reaction I’ve had, I’d use it again and again. Despite the itching, colour and application wise it’s the best I’ve used.
So my search for a safe fake tan that doesn't make me itch like mad continues...wish me luck!
Summary: Good colour and easy to apply (if a bit time consuming), but stains clothes and can irritate skin

- 14/05/06 Welcome to Dooyoo! Good review there!! I think with any product if you do have sensitive skin you should always do a 24 hour test before applying all over. Hope it stops itching soon!
