Advantages: A natural subtle tan .... no tango for me

Disadvantages: Quite expensive

Being naturally fair skinned the only way I can get a healthy glow is to fake it, my other options would be to go red and freckly and probably risk skin cancer and wrinkles eduring sunbeds. Due to this I have tried many fake tans, mostly the more premium brand such as Fake Bake, Clarins, Estee Lauder etc and have decided that for my skin type St Tropez is definately the best one for me.

St Tropez is available in several types which I have tried, there is the lotion which goes on a very deep brown and needs to be left several hours before rinsing off, I found this made me too dark and slightly orange, everyday lotion which is not suitable for the impatient like me, the spray which gives a natural finish and can be left on during the day, however with it being a thin liquid its prone to going patchy if you miss a bit or it 'runs' so my perfect fake tan is the mousse.

St Tropez mousse has an instant colour so is great if you need to apply last minute before going out, once you rinse the instant tint off it has a very natural finish which isnt too dark but can be built if you want to look more than just slightly tanned. The mousse texture makes it really easy to apply and unless you miss a bit (which easily happens when not paying much attention) it is streak free. It does have a biscuity smell so unless its absolutely necessary I wouldnt advise leaving on during the day as you can 'smell' the tan!

I apply mine using a tan mitt which I got with a St Tropez kit and I would reccommend this alongside the mousse as it ensures you dont end up with orange palms!

St Tropez is available in many retailers now, Boots, Debenhams, Selfridges the list could go on and on!! I personally buy mine from Debenhams when they have sale days with 20% off, but if you collect Boots points they also do promotions where you earn more points when you buy St Tropez products. The mousse is available in 2 sizes, 120ml (approx £20) and 240ml (approx £30)

The ONLY problem I have with the product is that the tint that you get before you initially wash it off has a slight grey/green colour to it, but this is just the instant colour and does wash to a golden brown.

Summary: Perfect for paler skin, and people who dont want to go full on orange but instead a golden shade

I prefer to stay away from chemicals & just look slightly pale & vampir-ish or goth-ish (even though I'm really neither:) or risk a tiny bit of sun..

I like to think I am good at applying these until I notice my wrists and ankles are a stunning neon orange.
