Advantages: Beautiful golden tan, No streaks, Doesnt smell as bad as other fake tans
Disadvantages: Expensive, Hassle to apply, Went blotchy after a few days
I had a very important event to go to so i wanted to look my best (not my usual milk bottle self)! I have to say I am the queen of fake tan i must have tried nearly every product on the market from expensive to cheapo fake tans such as clinique, clarins, fake bake, loreal sublime and avon, it was st tropezs turn! I shopped around and got a real bargain, all the shops seem to sell the 240ml bottle of the tanning lotion for about £25+ if i remember rightly and i got mine for £17.99 free p&p too at a website called www.pleaseonline.com (i dont work for them!!!) St tropez claim the Auto-Bronzant lotion : works instantly for a streakless application that will last for days. This aloe vera based lotion is non-greasy and quick drying, with a relaxing aromatic scent. Conveniently formulated in one maximum strength shade that can be custom blended with St. Tropez Body Moisturizer to your own desired shade Anyway - the packaging is fairly boring to be honest not very appealing to say how much you pay for the product! The product does come with instructions but here are some tips i found helped: *The morning before applying the tan have a shower and exfoliate and moisturise *That night moisturise all your dry bits like elbows knees heels and i find my ankles seem to go blotchy too. *I always wear latex gloves to put it on - makes life so much easier (and no orange hands) St tropez do sell them but you can buy them cheaper from tescos and places like that. *When u apply it dont rub too hard as it might make the tan blotchy! Right then a review of the product... To be honest I found it a nightmare! I?m used to wearing fake tan which u put on in 5mins and throw your clothes on. With this I stood about with no clothes on freezing for what seems like hours!! I felt like the mud monster from the black lagoon smeared with smudgy brown fake tan (hey at least my family and boyfriend had a laugh at my expense!) then I
ruined my lovely white sheets when I went to bed (it does wash out but its still a pain) One good thing was it didnt smell too bad - quite refreshing on application. The morning after the application you can wash the smudgy bits away? and it left me with a lovely golden tan and no streaks! It looked great! I had a fab day and felt like the bees knees. I followed instructions to moisturise everyday after application ? I knew nothing could be that good ? the next time I showered (not exfoliated though) id gone all blotchy ? white bits everywhere! Overall I feel that St Tropez is good for an occasion but a couple of days after it just looks blotchy. In my opinion loreal sublime bronzing gel is better for everyday tanning.
