A good thick body lotion from Superdrug

WHAT IS IT? A body lotion from the Superdrug Naturals range with the fragrance of coconut and shea butter. THE PACKAGING A plastic bottle with wide lid so you can stand it upside down for easy dispensing of the lotion.  The label is a contrasting black with a shadowed picture of half a coconut. IS IT ANY GOOD? This is a bargain from Superdrug, it costs only £2.99 for a 300ml bottle and is very moisturising.  The lotion has a beautiful smell that is a good mix of coconut and shea butter, the main smell is the shea butter and this is very creamy and rich.  The shea butter is the strongest but that doesn't stop the coconut giving the lotion a sweeter fragrance as you use it. It's quite a thick lotion but spreads across my skin easily, it sinks in very quickly and doesn't require much massaging for the lotion to completely disappear into my skin.  It feels a bit greasy as I'm rubbing it in but once it has all absorbed into my skin there's no greasy feeling at all and my body just feels soft and moisturised.  It's good as a hand cream as well because of how quickly it absorbs, I tried it on some dry skin on my heels but it didn't work as well there so I had to use some body butter on this problem area as this lotion didn't moisturise my feet well enough. I use the Superdrug lotion every morning after I've showered and like to leave my skin slightly damp so that the lotion can lock in the moisture, it dries so quickly that I can use it and get dressed straightaway without feeling sticky or having my clothes stick to me or marked by the lotion.  My skin feels soft as soon as I use the lotion and it also makes my skin feel smoother especially at the tops of my arms where I get rough skin sometimes even if I use a moisturiser or body lotion.  The shea butter smell lasts for a long time and I can even smell it if I've applied perfume after using the lotion, the coconut fades away quickly and I'm sorry about that as it gives the lotion a very nice tropical smell that I wish lingered for a bit longer. 4 Dooyoo Stars.

Recommend this if you're not in a hurry

This appeared in my stock-pile of toiletries after Christmas, I am always grateful to anyone who buys me this kind of thing as it will always get used and it saves me having to go out and buy it. It came in a set so I've had to check on the Superdrug website for the individual price, and have discovered it would cost £2.99 for a 300ml bottle which is pretty good value really. The body lotion is part of Superdrug's own range, although the packaging isn't cheap or nasty, it looks basic but classy. It comes in a bottle with a flip top lid, and has pictures of coconuts on the front. The body lotion smells absolutely gorgeous, you definitely get a good whiff of coconut, but it's not overpowering which is good because I'm not usually a fan of coconut smells. It stays on your skin after using it, my other half is a fan of this one because after using it I don't apply perfume, but he loves the smell of coconuts so I think he actually prefers this to any expensive perfumes! He's a strange one. The only downside to this body lotion is that I only apply it when I'm not in a hurry. This is because it tends to take a while for the lotion to sink in. When you apply it, it's quite thin and stays on the surface of your skin in a white layer so you have to keep rubbing it in to get it to sink in. Even then, it doesn't absorb immediately, and you'll find you spend a while walking around the bedroom naked waiting for it to sink in before getting dressed. This isn't a problem after a leisurely bath, but is a pain if you're going to work, or need to be somewhere by a certain time. As for moisturising properties, I do find that after using this body lotion, my skin is soft and smooth, as well as smelling gorgeous. I think this is probably due to the shea butter, which is known for its moisturising properties. Overall, I do like this product, and although it's not one I'd use if I'm in a hurry, it has become part of my beauty routine for when I have a bit of time on my hands. It's good value, and smells great.

A great product from Superdrug :)

I used to swear by Palmer's brand of body lotion for moisturising my whole body and reducing the appearance of scars, but since i used this at my mum's house, i've switched to this brand! The bottle is actually quite nice to look at and is easily recognisable; it is cream with a black strip down the front that shows a picture of a coconut cut in half with leaves on it. It also says what the product is, the brand (Superdrug), etc. For a 300ml bottle, you pay around £2.. Compared to the Palmer's one (which is practically the same) that retails for about £5 per bottle, you will save half the money you used to spend. The only downside is that it is obviously only available in Superdrug stores, but you could stock up and not have to go into the main shopping centre in your local town for months after that! It really is worth doing. As it's for use on the whole body, it does tend to go quite quickly - although a little does go a long way when you rub it in. But the expensive brands also do that, so you really can't complain for half the price! I go through one bottle a month if i moisturise after every bath/shower but sometimes it lasts nearer 2 months. The smell is absolutely amazing. Yep, you guessed it, you can smell coconut! It gets slightly toned down from the Shea, which i think smells a little bit like vanilla. Mixed with the coconut, the smell is heavenly and it lingers on your skin for hours after applying the lotion. It doesn't take ages to dry either, which is a bonus! I'd normally have to stand for half an hour before i could safely sit down and resume my normal life when i use any other body lotion. With Superdrug's, it takes around 5 to 10 minutes. It's recommended from me!
