Advantages: Really works, makes a difference after one use, reasonable price

Disadvantages: The whitening chart is not true to life

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Why I brought the product
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I have always wanted to have bright white teeth and a perfect smile, and also there is nothing I can do to get a perfect smile without braces, I knew you could whiten your teeth at home, rather than having to go to clinics for expensive treatments. So with white teeth, your half way to having a perfect smile. I thought I would try one of these home teeth whitening kits, so popped along to my local superdrug store where I found a kit which looked good and was reasonably priced, so it wasn't too much money to loose if it didn't work.

What you get in the box
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
6ml Accelerator
35ml Whitening Gel
50ml Whitening Toothpaste
One Size Fits All Easy Fit Mouth tray (gum shield)
Tooth Shade Guide
Information Leaflet
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What the products look like
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The producs come in an off white squared box with Superdrug* White Tooth Whitening System written on the front in white outlined with silver. The slogan of this product is "love that smile" and is written on the pack in several places. On the back of the box is a small tooth whitening guide, what the box contains, ingredients, warnings and a small description of the product and what it does. The box looks stylish and looks like a more expensive product or brand than it is.
Inside the box there are three white tubes - the whitening gel, the accelerator and the whitening toothpaste. All these tubes have the same silver writing on that the box does and on the back there are directions for use and ingredients.
What the product claims to do
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"With the Superdrug Tooth Whitening System you can whiten your teeth by up to 6 shades in just 14 days. It's clinically proven. The 3 step system is really easy to use and doesn't contain peroxide. So after just a few applications you'll start to notice the difference. It only takes 14 days".

Directions for use
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Before you start, brush your teeth as normal to remove any food stuff or debris.
Prepare the mouth tray by squeezing whitening gel into it.
Remove the cap on the accelerator. Check that the applicator pad is moist by pressing it against a clean surface. Apply the accelerator by pressing and rubbing the applicator pad against the surfaces of the teeth to be whitened. At this stage it is important not to close your mouth, as moisture from your lips and gums will remove the accelerator and lessen the whitening effect.
Straight away place the prepared mouth tray into your mouth and hold it firmly in place by biting into it. At this point the whitening action begins - as the whitening gel combines with the accelerator. After at least 5 minutes but no more than 10 remove the mouth tray.
Brush your teeth gently with a toothbrush and water to remove any residue of whitening gel from the surface of your teeth.
To finish brush your teeth as normal with whitening toothpaste.
For best results use twice daily - morning and evening for up to 14 days. The pack contains enough for 28 applications.
The box contains an instruction booklet, which is very useful, the directions are well explained and there are small pictures of assist you if you need.
How it feels on your teeth/in your mouth
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

It feels pleasant in your mouth, it tastes nice and doesn't sting, irritate or burn. The applicator is like a gum shield, it is easy to put in your mouth, but I think if you had to have it in your mouth for longer than 5-10 minutes, your jaw would start to ache, as sometimes it does when you are getting towards the end. You are unable to open your mouth or talk while this is on, it was hard not to talk that long for me, but my boyfriend loved his peaceful 5-10 minutes! You must also be careful not to swallow any of the gel, if you do it doesn't matter, it will not hurt you but it isn't pleasant. When you take the gumshield out it is full of gummy gel and a build up of saliva as you can't swallow properly whilst the gum shield is in, which doesn't look nice, you need to just wash this out with water after use and brush your teeth with water to clean off the remaining gel. After you have taken it out, you can sometimes have a little bit of jaw ache, but this subsides within a few minutes. Your teeth are left feeling really squeeky clean, fresh and smooth.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Taste, Smell & Texture
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I actually loved the taste of this, unlike other tooth whitening products which can taste vile. All three products in the box tasted a lovely minty and fresh flavour and didn't feel awful in my mouth, so it was pleasurable to have in my mouth for 5-10 minutes. The smell was also a minty fragrance, that of a minty toothpaste. I find the whitening toothpaste that comes with this kit is much nicer than usual whitening toothpastes, it tastes nice and makes your teeth feel so clean and refreshed, which lasts all day.

Does it work?
~~~~~~~~~~~
Day 1
I was a bit warey at first, not sure what it would feel or taste like, but once it was in my mouth it tasted fine and didn't feel uncomfortable. As it was the first application I only left it in for just over 5 minutes. After I took the mouth shield out, I washed it and brushed my teeth. My teeth felt throughly clean, unlike any time they had been brushed before. I also did notice a slight difference in colour, it wasn't dramatic and I wouldn't of expected it to be on the first application. It had started changing some of the yellow tones into more white tones. I must say I was impressed for the first day.
Day 2
I used the product the same as I did on day one, again I had the same feeling and taste. I left it on for the same amount of time - 5 minutes. There was no difference in colour from day one.
Day 3
I found day three to be the same as day two.
Day 4
I decided to leave the product on for 10 minutes instead of the lower time I had opted for before. I felt the mouth shield started to slightly ache my jaw coming up to the end of the 10 minutes, so was glad it wasn't on for longer. My teeth felt throughly clean again, and I did notice some more difference from day one, two and three. I noticed they looked whiter again, and when I compared them to the chart, I could see that it had worked.
Day 5
I left the product on for 10 minutes again, like day four and noticed my teeth were slightly whiter again than day four.
Day 6
I planned to leave the product on for 10 minutes again, as I had been noticing a difference from that, but as my jaw started to ache quite a bit I had to take it out after 8-9 minutes. I don't feel there was any difference from day five.
Day 7
Although my jaw had started to ache towards the end of the 10 minutes on day 6 I decided to put up with the extra two minutes today as I felt it had to be left on for 10 minutes to see a difference, and I was right, after I took the mouth shield out my teeth were even slightly whiter than the days before.
Day 8
After using the product for 10 minutes again, I noticed some more difference but felt that my teeth were a little sore as I do sometimes suffer from sensitive teeth, so I decided to miss a day out to let them recover.
Day 10
I decided to use the product again for 10 minutes, and I didn't have any problems this time, so think my teeth just needed a little rest.
Day 11
I didn't have much time this day so only used it for 7 minutes, although I hadn't used it as long as before, I still noticed some difference in the whiteness again.
Day 12
I went back to using the product fo 10 minutes again. My jaw ached towards the end but wasn't overly uncomfortable. I washed the product out and noticed my teeth were quite alot whiter than when I began, I had high hopes for the final result.
Day 13
As usual I used the product for 10 minutes, although my jaw started to ache again towards the end of the 10 minutes I kept it in and it wasn't unbearable. My teeth appeared whiter than day 12. I was very impressed.
Day 14
After using this product for the recommended amount of time minus the one day I missed out, I feel that it really did make a difference to the whiteness of my teeth. They generally appeared cleaner and looked in much better condition than before. They were quite a lot whiter than before I started using the product. I would not go by the chart that came in the kit as the tones in that were more greens and browns, not true to life. I measured against other products in my bathroom. I would say in my opinion that by the final day, my teeth had appeared whiter by up to 4 shades. I felt proud to show off my smile. I am very impressed with this product, especially for the price. I will definately buy it again in about 6 months to use again.
I think to get the full results from this product you need to use it for 10 minutes each day. It also depends how white or yellow your teeth are to start off with, if your teeth are fairly white anyway you might not see much difference and if you have very yellow teeth, you will probably notice a very large difference, but it may not reach the full results you were aiming for, but would be a lot better than what you started off with.
Who it is suitable for
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This product is suitable for most people but is not recommended for anyone under the age of 18 or anyone with gum disease, gingivitis, bleeding or severe receding gums, tooth sensitivity or for pregnant or nursing mothers. It is also not recommended for people with fixed braces or dentures.

I have sensitive teeth, but they are not very bad, I think if you only suffer from a bit of tooth sensitivity this product is okay for you, but you would find it quite sore if you had very sensitive teeth.

Price & Availability
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I brought this product from a Superdrug store, it was a 1/3 off all teeth whitening products so I got it for £7.49 which is very reasonable to pay. It is located in the tooth whitening section, which is next to the toothpastes, toothbrushes etc. It was easy to locate in store.
Conclusion
~~~~~ ~~~~~

Although it doesn't leave your teeth perfect, it is a fraction of the price of cosmetic surgery which is very damaging to your teeth and costs at hundreds, if not thousands of pounds. So if you are looking for a quick fix, and a reasonably priced solution for stained, yellowing teeth then this is your answer!

Summary: A quick fix tooth whitening solution!
