Yesterday I walked into Boots on a mission. Now if acting suspicious were an arrestable offence the boys in blue would have nicked me ages ago. The whole purpose was to get hold of one of these little foil packets as quickly and with as little embarrassment as possible. Being a bloke I didn't want to be spotted walking around Boots with self-tan products in my basket and so I thought it would be as simple as walking in, lifting something off the shelf, paying for it and leaving. How wrong was I? An entire aisle of Boots had been taken up with sun creams, tan makeup and self-tan products. I thought it would have been simple, sun cream, after sun and of course ... I have auburn hair & my skin is quite pale so I have tendency to go red in the strong sunshine & prefer to use tanning products rather than damage my skin. I've tried dozens of fale tan products over the years with varying reslults but this Tantowel product I'd definitely never use again. I made the big mistake of buying these towelettes in bulk from ebay from a supplier who was selling her business & thought I'd got a really good deal as the larger size (15ml) can sell for up to £4 each. They are also available in a smaller size for around £1. The packaging is smart - silver foil vacuum-sealed - easy to tear open & easy ... Read the complete review

= = = = = The British weather can never be relied upon to give you a golden suntan and sitting out in the sun for long periods is bad for your skin anyway. So last year I purchased a tantowel. They come in small silver sachets with tantowel written on the front. You can buy them individually or in boxes of ten. I didn’t know if these were any good so I brought one sachet which was on special offer in boots for just 99p. Each sachet contains one tantowel which is a towelette concentrated with self tan, the packet describes it as ‘formulated to give you a quick and even ... Read the complete review

I was first made aware of Tan Towels by reading an advertisement in Cosmopolitan Magazine . I have really fair skin and never tan so i decided to gove them a go . Tan Towels are designed for your face . ( Don't forget to blend the colour down to the neck line and top of the chest though )They are ideal for the summer and on holiday when the thought of caking on foundation or sunburn does not appeal . The advantage of Tan Towels are that that are odourless and don't leave streaky marks and your face will end up with a heathly glow . I think after trying loads of tanning products Tan Towels are the best way to achieve a natural looking tan about 3 ... Read the complete review

Now I hate to fly in the face of prevailing opinion but I actually found this to be quite good. The first time that I used it I did come out rather streaky but the colour was good - not too dark (v. fair skinned, me) so I set about working out how to avoid the streaks. Now, I know this is going to sound strange but if you open the whole towel out and wrap it around your leg and sort of rotate it (the towel not your leg!) it comes out nice and even. Its even better if you can persuade someone else to do it for you - my long suffering partner was pressganged into action recently and the result was excellent. So, as far as I'm concerned, its a winner. ... Read the complete review
