I have always been obsessed with Ted Baker and I received this body lotion along with the body soufflé as a gift from a friend. I was really pleased to receive this and was very excited to use it.
This product is very similar to the body soufflé, in terms of what it actually does. But the packaging and smell are very different.
The packaging for this is a pink squeezy bottle with a gold lid just like the soufflé, and it is decorated with pretty grey butterflies, with one butterfly on the front highlighted in bright pink. The lettering is in gold and the the bottle of lotion contains a bit less than the soufflé, it is 200ml instead of the 300ml the soufflé has. I think the reason there is less in the bottle is because people tend to use less cream in a bottle than in a big pot where you can dig your fingers in and waste quite a bit of it.
The smell of the lotion is more pleasant, and more grown up I think than the soufflé as it doesn't smell as strong and is more sutble. The cream also seems to be thicker in texture but it absorbs just as nicely as the soufflé and has a really nice effect.
One thing I would note with the bottle is that in the lid, some lotion is wasted because everyone has a habit of not wiping the nozzle of cream before they close the lid and so cream stays on the lid and becomes dried up and sticky which can be a nuisance.
Other than that I think it is a great product and really lovely to use. Great results from this!
I received a Ted Baker skincare set as a gift and this Butterfly Wings Body Lotion was one of the items that was in it. It comes in a pink 50ml squeezable tube with butterflies printed on the label with a bronze-coloured flip cap at the bottom. I have also seen larger 200ml versions for sale which looks exactly the same.
The lotion itself in white in colour and is the typical consistency of a body lotion - not too runny but not difficult to rub in either. I mainly use this on my hands rather than all over my body as it is a small tube and will last me longer this way. I have found that a little bit seems to go quite a long way so it is lasting me well. It hydrates and moisturises my skin and helps sort out the roughness on my knuckles from the cold weather.
The lotion soaks in quite nicely but I do find that the palms of my hands feel little clammy for longer after using this lotion than I have experienced with other body lotions which I am not that keen on. This sometimes makes me feel like washing my hands but of course this would just ruin the effect of using it in the first place.
The scent of this body lotion is described as "A delightful and delicate infusion of bergamot, red fruit, tuberose and patchouli". I know what red fruit is but I would be fibbing if I said I could pick out any of the others in a line up so I will describe the scent simply as being pleasant, relaxing, floral and subtle rather than intense. It is a fragrance that I quite like as it is not too noticeable but it can be enhanced by using the body spray from the same range to layer the scent if you desire.
The Ted Baker Butterfly Wings Blossom Gift Collection containing 50ml Body Wash, 50ml Body Lotion and 50ml Body Spray is currently available from Boots for £7.50. A single 200ml tube of the body lotion is £5.50. Both are also part of a 3 for 2 offer.
In summary, overall I like this body lotion however I do think that it makes my hands a bit clammy after using it so for that reason it is not my favourite and I will knock a star off and rate it 4 stars.
~Butterfly Body Lotion~
The Butterfly collection of beauty products is part of the Ted Baker range. This collection includes a body scrub, body lotion, body wash and body spray. Today I will be discussing my use of the body lotion.
This body lotion is designed to compliment the other products in this collection. Ted Baker claim that it will soothe skin. This body lotion carries a scent of red fruit, tuberose, patchouli and bergamot.
The packaging for this body lotion is very girly and eyecatching. It isn't something I would be ashamed to have sitting on my dressing table. It is presented in a tall, light pink tube which is beautifully adorned with printed butterflies. A gold, flip lid completes the look and allows this body lotion to be dispensed very easily. The tube can be recycled and this product has a 24 month shelf life.
~Price and Availability~
Butterfly Body Lotion is currently available from Boots and www.boots.com. Expect to pay £5.50 for a 200ml tube and £2.50 for a 50ml tube. Both sizes are currently part of a '3 for 2' promotion.
I received a gorgeous vanity case of Ted Baker products from my parents for my recent birthday. I have sampled a few of the older style products in the past and was very pleased to receive this gift. Within my vanity case, I received a mix of products from the 'Butterfly' collection and the 'Origami' collection.
I have dry skin which needs to be moisturised on a daily basis. I have a huge collection of perfumed body lotions and was delighted to add this to my collection as it looks so pretty. I have been using it alongside the matching body scrub (alternating with my Soap and Glory scrub) and the body wash. Using the different products together does create a longer lasting scent as they compliment each other beautifully. It is also a pleasant step by step scrub, wash and moisturise routine to experience in my opinion.
This body lotion is perfect for using after drying off from my morning shower. I use it across my arms, legs, chest and tummy area and find it very pleasant to use. The lotion itself is thick and reminds me more of a cream than a lotion. It is easy to dispense as the tube is squeezy and only a small blob is needed per area of skin. A little goes a long way and the lotion spreads effortlessly across my skin. The lotion feels creamy, soft and light as I massage it into my skin.It is more of an everyday lotion than a luxurious lotion yet it still feels quite special to use. It also a fresh and cool feel which remains on my skin after the lotion has absorbed - perfect for after a roasting hot shower.
This body lotion soaks into my skin very quickly and without much effort on my part. This is a huge advantage to me as I like to be able to get dressed quickly without any tacky feeling. Whilst my skin looks a tad shiny at first, no residue is left and this shine soon turns in to a healthy skin glow. I love the way my skin feels after applying this body lotion. It is silky smooth and perfectly soft. It is lightly moisturising and treats my dry patches to a bit of hydration. Mostly, my skin feels amazing through the day but the effects on the rougher areas isn't as long lasting unless I have used the body scrub too.
Scent wise, this body lotion ticks all the boxes for me. I wasn't sure what to expect of the scent but I absolutely love it. It isn't overly strong and does sit quite close to my skin when I have only used the body lotion (without the other products). It is a beautiful sweet, lightly fruity and fresh smell. There is a hint of light florals but I cannot pick out any specific notes - it is just a nice scent. It is a feminine but subtle scent and to me, is very pretty and delicate. I find the scent ideal as a day time scent and wonder if there is a perfume like this as I would love to try it!
As a stand alone product, this body lotion has left me impressed. It is kind and gentle to my sensitive skin and leaves it smelling gorgeous. It looks good too! I find that on its own, the sweet aroma from this body lotion is only noticeable for 2-3hours. Combined with the other products, I notice it 7 or 8 hours later. I quite fancy expanding my collection with the body spray too as this would be perfect for topping up the scent through the day.
I expected this to cost more than £5.50 if I am being honest. I feel that is a bit of a bargain price for 200ml of body lotion. It is the perfect everyday lotion and I would happily use it all year round. It isn't outstanding or special but it does have a lot going for it and I will happily recommend it. As I do not need much per use, my tube will last well but I will definitely purchase another tube when it runs out as I really like this body lotion.
Thanks for reading :)
At Christmas time, I was pleased to receive an attractive box containing a selection of "Ted Baker" skin care products from a friend. I have enjoyed trying the products out, and this review outlines my experiences of using the "Ted Baker Butterfly Wings Body Lotion."
I received a small 50ml tube of the Body Lotion amongst some other items from the same range. I believe you can purchase the lotion in larger branches of Boots, where the 50ml tube will cost you £2.50, or there is a larger tube available if you prefer. The item can also be purchased online at www.boots.com.
The packaging is quite pretty, consisting of a small tube that is a pale pink colour, with some attractive images of butterflies appearing on the front. The Ted Baker branding appears in a gold colour, and the plastic lid at the bottom of the tube is coloured in a gold shade too, so I do think the packaging looks quite sophisticated and rather contemporary. I am able to use the packaging easily, as the tube is made of thin enough materials that cause no difficulty with me dispensing the lotion from within. Likewise, the plastic 'flip up' lid on the bottom of the tube has posed no significant issues with its use.
The lotion itself is a plain white colour, which I have to confess looks rather boring. To be fair, there is an attractive sheen evident on the lotion which gives it a slightly 'glossy' look. The liquid lotion is easy to dispense from its tube as I find its consistency is not overly thick or creamy.
The lotion is easy to apply, and I find its thin nature is helpful during this process, as it ensures the lotion carries quickly and effortlessly across the skin's surface. I can't stand to use body lotion products that are of a poor quality and seem to take an absolute age to rub over the skin's surface. Thankfully, this annoying trait is nowhere to be found with this Ted Baker product, so I have no doubts that its quality is rather good.
I find the skin absorbs easily into the skin too, which is another bonus for yours truly. I have no desire to use body lotion (or butter!) type products on my skin that require me to hang around waiting patiently for them to sink into the skin's layers. Doing so is extremely inconvenient and quite time-consuming, and the whole process of using such toiletries just feels like something of a chore. The Ted Baker Butterfly Wings Lotion sinks into the skin quickly enough for my liking, with no annoying greasiness or 'tacky' residual matter being left behind. I really have no complaints about this aspect of the product at all.
The aroma of the Body Lotion is, according to the 'blurb' on the reverse of the tube: a "delicate infusion of bergamot, red fruit, tuberose and patchouli." I thought this description sounded very pleasant, and I have a huge love of fruit-scented toiletries in general, so was keen to experience the lotion's scent for myself, with a particular interest in the 'red fruit' content contained within.
What I found is that initially, the scent feels very floral, and in fact I found it to be extremely feminine, as a result. This isn't the usual type of scent that I would seek out for myself, but I decided to give the product a fair trial, so persevered. I did find that the lotion's scent really 'quietened' after a short while, which I felt rather thankful for as it's fragrance had felt really rather 'heady' in its initial appearance. Once this aspect of the scent faded however, I did find that although the scent was still very feminine, it felt much more 'muted' and thus, it was more suited to my own tastes. The scent of patchouli is very under-stated in this fragrance too, which again was something of a relief as I find this scent can feel very 'heady' if it is too strong. This didn't prove to be the case with the Ted Baker Lotion, however, and I found that some 30 minutes or so following absorption of the product into my skin, there was really only a delicate 'air' of the scent remaining. Whilst other products would have me complaining about this result, in the case of the Ted Baker lotion it feels completely balanced, as the scent would just be too powerful if it was allowed to remain at its initial strength, in my view.
I found that the much longed for scent of 'red fruit' in the product's ingredients was really quite non-descript, providing only a delicate sweetness in the overall scent. I felt that the other, stronger scents contained within the product easily swamped any hint of fruitiness that may have been lingering. This was something of a disappointment for me, as I had hoped the fragrance would be more 'fruity' which is my personal preference, but this matter is of course down to individual tastes and choices, and other consumers may find the fragrance suits them better than I did.
In terms of moisturisation, I thought the Butterfly Wings lotion performed well, with skin being left softened and moisturised after use. I don't really have anything negative to report in this regard, but I can't say that neither was I completely blown away by the results. It performed well enough for me, but without providing any sort of 'wow' factor. What I DID find notable, however, was the fact that I experienced no irritation or unfortunate side-effects to my hyper-sensitive skin, nor did I experience any troublesome 'flare-ups' to the eczema or dry skin that is present. This result is somewhat surprising, given the strong scent and perfume that is contained in the product, so I did find myself coming to the conclusion that the product is one of a fairly high quality, especially as highly-scented or, indeed, poorly-branded cosmetics and skincare items will often have an adverse affect to my sensitive skin.
I can't say that there was anything about the Ted Baker Butterfly Wings Body Lotion that felt particularly innovative or different, nor did I find the results from using the product were any better or different from using a basic body lotion product. For these reasons, I can't say that I would seek out the product to repurchase it for myself and feel that an award of four stars in the Dooyoo product rating score is appropriate, as a result.
For Christmas I was a very lucky woman. I got completely spolit for my step dad (as usual) and he bought me a great big case full of Ted Baker stuff, all the stuff in it was full sizes too! Within the set I had (and still do have some left) was this 'Butterfly' Body Lotion. I call it that because it hasn't got a name on it as to what it is. I havent seen this available to purchase in the 200ml size that I have but have seen it in Boots in a trial size (50ml) for about £1.99 a tube of it and so if interested then my advice is to Google it. I have and I can only find the trial sizes in small gift sets and the correct name for this is if you are Ted Baker Butterfly Wings if you do want to try it.
Like I have already said I have the 200ml tube (the size is on the front of it) and the tube is a light baby pink colour with a bronzy coloured flip top lid to the bottom of it concealing a small hole. On the front of the tube there are grey and white pictures of butterflies on it along with one small dark pink one and then in bronze writing we are told that it is indeed Ted Baker London Body Lotion. On the back of the tube other information listed includes being told a bit a about the product and how to use it (along with a top tip being given), we are told to use the product up within 24 months of opening it and that it is made in China (not London then Ted? lol) and contact details for the manufacturer are given.
The Lotion Itself:
The lotion is quite thick though easy enough to squeeze out of the tube and is white in colour. On contact with the skin this blends in very easily and has a very light scent of red berry fruits to it in the main along with a hint of patchouli and although bergamot and tuberose are said to be also in this scent wise, to be honest I can't smell those scents at all.
When on the skin it does leave a sheen to this skin but it doesn't feel oily. It does give a very gentle moisturising feeling to the skin all day long (or all night lol) and the scent isn't in your face......in fact I can only smell this if I sniff at myself really hard when its on.
This is a nice, gentle easy to use moisturiser that for me is nice for everyday use opposed to a lotion that is going to be helpful for very dry skin conditions. It doesn't agitate my skin when on, doesn't inteferere fragrance wise with any other scents that I am using and is a nice sweet and subtle fragrance itself though I would prefer it to be a bit more strong really.
I wouldn't go out of my way to buy this one myself but it is nice used in conjunction with other Ted Baker products from this range, which I do!

Before Christmas I bought a lovely Ted Baker body gift set in the Boots 3 for 2 deals. What attracted me to it was the gorgeous looking box and then afterwards the beautiful smell of the products inside.
One of the products was this gorgeous body lotion. The body lotion is the Butterfly Wings print and design and is described by Ted Baker as the perfect complement for the rejuvenating Body Wash, so spread your wings and soar with its delicate infusion of bergamot, red fruit, tuberose and patchouli.
Like I've said above the box it came in was gorgeous, actually is as I still have it as I can't throw it away and store the products in there when I'm not using them. The back of the box calls this set "It's a small world" as it contains small versions of four different Ted Baker products, 50ml products to be precise which they say are ideal for travelling light or taking flight. The box is quite sturdy and is classified as a small hat box. The box is a gorgeous light pink colour with lots of butterflies on it. The butterflies are a black and white colour and are a nice contrast against the pink of the box. It's a typical Ted Baker print and looks really old fashioned and romantic. The set consists of a body wash, body scrub, body spray and body lotion.
The Body Lotion comes in a squeezy tube comes in a nice squeeze tube with a flip cap lid. The tube is just as good looking as the box it comes in with a light pink colour to it and lots of pictures of black and white butterflies. The lotion is fairly thick and really smoothes over my skin nicely. It is absorbed well and because it is quite a strong fragrance it does last for quite a long while during the day.
I've listed the fragrance ingredients above and it really is a gorgeous fragrance. It's got quite a flowery scent to me and almost has a musk effect. It's strong but not overpowering which is nice. It is kind of summery and would be suited to a nice warm day although I would say that you could wear this all throughout the year too.
Like I've said above I have a small tube which came in this gift set but you can buy a larger 200ml tube from Boots for £5.10.
