Advantages: Cheap, works well

Disadvantages: Doesn't smell or look as nice as the honeysuckle one

I recently wrote a glowing review for Tesco Honeysuckle and Silk Handwash, which I really enjoyed using, so I decided to try another handwash from the same range, Tesco Cornflower and Silk Handwash. There is also a third in the range, Magnolia, which I am sure I will also soon get round to trying!

The handwash costs 48 pence for 500 ml. I think this is a huge bargain, as most other handwashes are at least a pound, and sometimes two or three times that, and you generally only get between 200 and 350 ml!

The handwash comes in a clear plastic container with a flat bottom and a rounded top. The fact that it is clear allows you to see when you are running low on handwash and so lets you have advance warning to stock up on some more! At the top of the container is a plastic pump which releases the handwash into your hands when you press down on it. The pump is easy to use and dispenses just the right amount of handwash.

I don't think the bottle is as attractive as the Honeysuckle variety as it has heavy blue writing and a dark blue cornflower picture on it, which makes it a bit more obtrusive than the gentle yellow tones on the Honeysuckle bottle, but it is not really unattractive and certainly not embarrassing to have in your bathroom.

The handwash itself is a light blue colour. It has a normal consistency, not too runny but not really thick or gooey. It lathers up nicely when you rub your hands together and it feels nice and soft as you are using it. You can detect a faint scent of cornflowers but it is not very strong.

After using the handwash my hands feel fine. They don't feel dried out or tight as they do after some soaps or handwashes.

I think this handwash is brilliant value for money. It does what it's supposed to do, it is pleasant to use and it doesn't irritate my skin. I will definitely buy from this range again, though I will probably go for the Honeysuckle again next time.

Summary: A bargain
