Advantages: Really cheap and will last a long time.

Disadvantages: Difficult to get into.

*** Tesco Cornflower and Silk Handwash***

I am not an expert on handwashes nor have I tried that many, but I recently bought this one and was really happy with the results. Now I have to say that the main reason for buying this one, was because it fitted in with my decor!

***What is it like?***

Well it comes in a pump dispenser and that is my only complaint. I think that it needs someone with Krypton Factor skills to get into it! In the end my 12 year old daughter was the one who managed it!! So beware you do have to really twist around and around to get the dispenser started.

It is a blue soap and is of a creamy consistency, you do not need much to get a good lather. It comes in a 500ml bottle so in comparison to some of the other well known brands, you do get quite a lot of soap for your money. This one will last us for ages.

When you rinse away there is no residue and it does not feel sticky at all.

It left my hands feeling soft and more importantly they did not feel dry or as if I needed to use a separate moisturiser.

***Opinion***

There are three main things that I liked about this handwash. The first is the price. As the Tesco website helpfully states, it costs around 10p per 100ml. Some of the branded ranges cost three times as much.

I suppose with some you are paying extra for anti-bacterial qualities, but I don't like to rely on these as I think in the long term these products my lower our natural defences.

The second thing that I liked was the fragrance. After someone used it for the first time, I went into the bathroom and thought that they must have been wearing nice perfume. It was only when I washed my hands that I realised the smell came from the handwash. Whether it really smells like cornflowers I can't say - but it does smell very floral and pleasant.

The last thing I noticed was that it didn't leave my hands feeling dry. This is important to as some handwashes I have used in the past leave my hands feeling tight and dry. I am not sure what ingredient they have added to prevent this, but it does work. The website does state that it is soap free and pH balanced.

***Availability***

Of course only from Tesco and only 48p for a massive 500ml. I will be buying this again but not for ages as this will last a long time. Next time I will perhaps try the Magnolia version.

Summary: Does the job for a great price!

I always think of cornflower as the thing my mum asked me to get out of the cupboard to thicken the sunday roast gravy!! thinking of it in a hand wash is tres bizarre! :o) nice review. x
