Does the job, but will my teeth suffer? (Tesco Daily Care Freshmint)

I'm not sure when or how it happened, but the range of toothpastes available now seems astonishing! I stood in the supermarket looking for something not to pricey the other day and really couldn't make head nor tail of half the products on offer. Do you want it to whiten, brighten, remove plaque, remove tartar, stop erosion, stop sensitivity, freshen breath, re-build your enamel. Do you want mint, fresh mint, strawberry for the kids, baking soda, are you a smoker, do you eat too much fruit??? The list goes on and on. In a nutshell I want something cheap that cleans my teeth!

Now, I am really a colgate girl, but I bought this 100ml tube for 52p because I am trying to save some pennies. It claims to do everything I want it to do; protect against cavities, strengthen enamel, remove plaque, leave mouth feeling fresh and clean. It is approved by the British Dental Council and contains fluoride.

It's OK. it cleans my teeth, but somehow they just don't seem to stay feeling clean as long as they do with more expensive toothpastes. The fresh mint flavour is nice and there is nothing negative to report on the packaging front. I'm not sure if I would consider using this long term as I'm not convinced it's going to keep my teeth and gums healthy. I'm afraid I'll be back to the colgate when this runs out.
