... It is also five star ultra UV protection (please don't ask me what that means!). It was developed with Australian laboratories apparently, so has probably been tested in a good amount of sunlight rather than our pitiful excuses for a summer! It comes in a 200ml bottle and cost around £6. Apparently there are also anti-ageing properties; it mentions Vitamin E, although as I am using it on a 4 year old, I cannot possibly comment on this aspect! The cream is white, it is also very soft and easy to apply to skin. I...more

Premium Review Tesco Sun Cream: Feeling hot, hot, hot! (366 words)

My review is on Tesco sensitive sun protection 50SPF. Ok, I have a confession. I never use sun cream. I'm obsessed with putting it on my son but never bother with myself so this review is purely about how it works for him. My son doesn't have particularly sensitive skin; occasionally he will react to something but not very often. When I bought this cream (about a month ago) they had both the standard protection and the sensitive at the same price so I thought I might as well go for this one. As previously mentioned, it is factor 50. It is also five star ultra UV protection (please don't ask me what that means!). It was developed ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review The yellow stuff is here so you'll need this! (488 words)

Like most people over the last couple of days, we have been enjoying the sunshine. Isn't it amazing how a bit of the yellow stuff can make you feel a whole lot happier? Obviously we are constantly being warned about the harmful affects of it and I am a neurotic when it comes to applying suncream especially on my boys. They are ages two and a half and 9 months so their skin isn't particularly weathered so I need something that will stop their fair skin from burning. I paid a couple of quid for a tube of Tesco's baby suncream last year. It comes in a white toothpaste tube and is SPF50. This means it will give you fifty times more than you skins natural ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Tesco Sun Cream: Gives great protection but your face looks like a greasy mir ... (573 words)

When I went to the Maldives in 2007, I had been advised by lots of people to take tons of sun cream because when you are out there it is so expensive to buy. Because I was taking such a lot of the stuff, I didn't want to spend a small fortune (especially as they are probably all the same anyway) so I chose the tesco own brand sun lotion. It comes in a bright orange bottle with a white lid and you can get it in a spray oil, normal lotion, or a spray lotion. You can get a wide range of protection levels, I think it was from 10 to 50+ which is great for me as my skin tends to burn pretty easily! I chose two bottles of lotion, one a spray lotion and the other a ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Does the job, but is a bit greasy. (449 words)

I was on the school run recently when I realised that I had forgotten to put sun protection on my daughter and as the forecasters had predicted a hot and sunny day I nipped into Tesco on the way to school and basically bought the cheapest thing on the shelf because I knew it was only for that day and I had loads of other bottles of sun protection in the cupboard at home. The product I picked up was Tesco's own brand sun protection 30 high spf priced at £3.29 for a 200ml bottle. It claimed to be water repellent and photostable, anti-ageing and moisturising offering five star ultra UVA protection. Outside my daughter's school I covered every inch of ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Tesco Sun Cream: Tesco Sun Screen might work in the dark, but doesn't work in ... (382 words)

I bought Tesco Factor 50 Sun Cream for the kids for our holiday in France. It's been 5 years since either of the kids has been in any over sea's sun, but there have been a couple of weeks of decent sun in the UK in those 5 years and factor 30 has been fine for them. So I assumed Factor 50 would do the job. How wrong I was, despite being absolutely plastered in the cream every 2 hours, about 1-2 o'clock in the afternoon I noticed my daughter was looking a little red, so she covered up with a T Shirt and carried on playing in the pool for the rest of the afternoon. (Although it sounds like they were out all day, they actually spent the day in and out of the ...  Read the complete review
