Cheap and does the basics: just don't expect a lather of rose petals! (Tesco Value Shower Gel)

At 10p for 300ml of shower gel, you can't really expect much of this shower gel. This is just as well, because it just does the basics, and not a lot more. I don't go in for fancy shower gels, with fragrance this and fragrance that. The only thing I do consider is the fact that my eczema sometimes flares up if I use a particular product.

This ridiculously cheap shower gel was, unfortunately, one such product, but it took a while before it started getting bad, and until then, I was able to give a balanced opinion without this affecting it. In terms of packaging, it's not the most practical of bottle, although it will stand up provided you have a flat surface handy in or by your shower. The lid is thin and plastic, and after a couple of uses, it's not so secure, so don't knock it over or leave it on its side, as it may all come seeping out.

It's also not particularly pleasing to the eye, with the bland Tesco Value branding revealing a dull blue gel, and when you squeeze it into your hands and start using it, it doesn't really lather that well, either. I found that, to wash properly, you need to use quite a bit more than you would with other brands of shower gel - it just doesn't have the power that others do. The scent is virtually non existent, with just a generic shower gel aroma that doesn't really last after washing. There doesn't seem to be any extra scent added, it's just liquid soap gelled up a bit.

Overall, this is a good product for how much it costs. If you want something aromatic, this probably isn't for you. Nor is it good if you just want to use a touch at a time. However, at a really low price, it's worth buying, so long as it doesn't affect your skin like it eventually did to me.
