Advantages: makes your skin very soft, smell lasts all day, enough bubbles for 2

Disadvantages: artificial strawberry smell - but still delicious!

It was nearing Valentine’s day so I thought I had better pop into town to by a little gift for my beloved. Strangely enough I ended up with more gifts for me! These included some ‘Moisturising strawberry bath and shower gel’ from The Body Shop.

I hadn’t meant to go in but they had a big strawberry promotion as a valentine special. Inside, I was greeted by a lovely smiley lady who embalmed me with a range of new strawberry products. They had -Moisturising strawberry bath and shower gel - £5
-Strawberry body scrub - £10
-Strawberry soap - £2.50
-Strawberry moisturising body lotion - £10

I finally decided to try the bath and shower gel.

On opening the 250ml bottle you get an immediate sweet, succulent, strawberry aroma that is not at all sickly. The consistency appears to be sticky but once on your body is smooth and super moisturising. Some moisturising gels may leave your skin greasy but this one didn’t – it gave my skin the sumptuous, silky, soft feeling I was hoping for.

When I’m choosing any skin product I really like it to have a nice smell. There are some lovely products out there that do wonders for your skin but do not smell particularly pleasant. This gel gives my skin a soft feeling and a fresh smell that both last all day. I must admit that the smell does seem a bit ‘artificial’ but is still definite strawberry.

Like a lot of people, I usually put my shower gel on an exfoliating shower puff (or sponge) to get lots of bubbles and make it go further. However, as this one said ‘bath and shower’, I decided to squeeze a little into the hot running water of my bath. And I was glad I did. It made mounds of soft, bouncy bubbles that stayed for the whole duration, and it made the water, s
ilky and smooth. The smell filled my bathroom and stayed right up till my fiancée returned home from work and demanded to know what delicious food I had been eating in there.

As with all ‘The Body Shop’ products, this gel is not tested on animals and the plastic is re-cycleable. The oil contained in the formula is soya oil from Brazil and is ‘community trade’ oil.

For anyone who would like to know, other ingredients include:
Water
Sodium laureth Sulfate
Glycerin
Cocamidopropyl Betaine
Cocamide DEA
Coco-Glucoside
Hydrogenated Castor oil
Parfum
Phenozyethanol
Glycine soja
Sodium benzoate
Citric acid
Propylene Glycol
Benzophenane-4
And a bunch of colour additives.

Any questions can be put to ‘www.thebodyshop.com’.

I’m off for my bath now…
