Advantages: looks, smells and feels devine.

Disadvantages: only the price and the need for an accessory to rub it in!

I am deeply ashamed at how much this stuff costs now. I'm hopelessly addicted to The Body Shop's Mango Body Butter and there's nothing any doctor can do.

I have no idea when I first found this lovely product but the smell of it is devine. As you may well know, smell is the most powerful of all the senses - and once you have attached a certain memory to that smell it re-lives that memory on demand.

My one complaint is the change of formula in the last year. I used to buy a clear version in a deep sunset colour. Over time it became gritty, which surprisingly was it's best quality, as it made for a fabulously invigoating back msssage! I distinctly remember buying one pot for £3 in the sale and since then - it has not been discontinued as such, but reformulated so that it doesn't go gritty and is creamy smooth in colour and application. Shame.

Oh, BODY SHOP - That was no product fault but a lucky stroke of genius!

Anyway, I still love the one the do now - except the ridiculous price tag of £7.50 which they hiked up the moment they realised what a great product they were onto. I have a tiny bit of the original left - which I will save for the mother of all occasions...

Anyway - why do I like it so much?

The pot is gloriously wide and extravagant - making you feel like you have bought tons of the stuff and giving you the sensation of unleashing something good - by the time it takes to unscrew the giant lid!

The smell hits you like a mango in the face - escuse the analogy but this has happened to me - (both the sensation and the actual mango in the face stunt - still bearing the scars to proove)

The consistency is very rich - and just like butter. If you open it on a winter's night it is almost set solid but on a summer's evening you could pour it!

It works extremely well as a massage oil and the aromatherapy is superb. But, I also use it as a regular moisturiser an
d still get a kick out of smelling like a big fruit pie.

I adore having brightly coloured things around my boudoir and bathroom and this fits the bill very well.

A bright yellowy orange pot, containing a wickedly delicious aroma and very rich indulgent body butter.

Yes please. I love it!
