Advantages: fells like a luxury moisturiser, the smell of course
Disadvantages: the price
The Body Shop's Body Butter range comes in a number of flavours, but my favourite is nut body butter. Like most women I like to try out a variety of different products, always thinking you're going to stumble on the right one, well this time I really have found it. I have used this for about three years and it remains a firm favourite. This is an extremely rich moisturiser, which contains Brazil nut oil, shea butter (whatever that is!) and cocoa butter. It is very effective on dry skin, and I do tend to use it more in the winter months, as it gives an instant result. However I think the thing that makes me use this product again and again is the fabulous smell. I'm not sure that I would have expected any smell from a product where the main ingredients are nuts but the combination give a great smell which to me is just like cinder toffee. On the label we are told that the Community Trade agreement has been used - the cocoa butter is made from Ghanian sourced beans, and Brazil nut oil from the Amazon region, so not only is it a great product but also environmentally friendly! It also tells you on the packaging to store in a cool place. This was brought home to me recently when I took some to the office where it is always very warm and found that the consistency changed from feeling quite gooey to positively runny- yuk! This currently sells for about £7.50 but my current tub has been in use for over 12 months so it lasts well. I would highly recommend this product, even if it were just for the great smell.

- 13/01/02 Thanks for pointing that out-the question marks certainly weren't there when I wrote it in word, but it's now been amended - thanks. |
