Advantages: lovely aroma
Disadvantages: pricy, bad for eczma
The Body Shop have ten Body Butters ranging from Olive to Honey to Soy to suit the diverse range of skin from oily to dry. Stating that "Skin will soak up and savour the ultra moisturization that this range of Body Butters provides" I am going to talk about one of the range called Shea Body Butter. THE BODY BUTTER Shea Body Butter is an "all-over intensive moisturizer" It contains shea butter, cocoa butter, beeswax and sesame oil and according to The Body Shop is an extra rich body moisturizer which gives added softening benefits, particularly to dry areas and is "Great for for dry skin" The Packaging is a nice creamy colour like the body butter inside it. Available from The Body Shop at £9 for a 200ml tub it is rather expensive, but they have an offer on at the moment where you buy 2 products for £15. This creamy yellow body butter is a nice consistancy; a rich, smooth and thick moisturizer. It Smells DIVINE. A subtle, sweet nutty aroma. To use: pat onto the skin then massage in, especially after cleansing. It suggests you store it in a cool place. MY EXPERIENCE I have to admit it wasn't very good I'm afraid! I brought this because I have very dry skin and eczema thinking it would help. (It states it's great for dry skin remember) Sadly, instead of being "Great" for my dry skin, it made it worse, my eczema flaired up all the more. From discussions with other eczema sufferers it seems I am not the only one who found this. THE BODY SHOP The great thing about The Body Shop is their Company Policy: Against Animal Testing, Supporting Community Trade, Human Rights and keeping The Earth (as well as us) healthy. And by buying products containing Community Traded cocoa butter and shea butter like this moisturiser, you "make a difference to the lives of cocoa farmers and women producers in Ghana and to the lives
of their children and future generations. By buying Community Traded accessories, you support producers and their communities in India, Bangladesh and many other countries". Which can't be bad - right? SUMMERY So, in short; it is a very nice creamy heavenly scented moisturizer, and I believe it would be good ONLY if you have slightly dry skin. Support The Body Shop and their Fair Trade - but don't use it if your have eczema.
