Advantages: Gorgeous smell and excellent scrub
Disadvantages: A wee bit pricey at £12.20
I am addicted to this stuff.
There aren't many toiletries that I'm not flexible on given price and availability, but this is just the best.
Info from the Body Shop:
"With ground rice, almond, and Community Trade soya oil from Brazil to polish dry skin into serenity. Also containing Community Trade cocoa butter to moisturise.
Cocoa butter - Is an excellent moisturiser that melts at body temperature, leaving the skin feeling soft and silky smooth.
Organic soya oil - Is very rich in essential fatty acids that help to repair the skin's moisture barrier, thus helping to restore moisture, smoothness and suppleness."
The Cocoa Butter Scrub is available in store or online, priced £4.85 for 50ml or £12.20 for 200ml. Obviously the larger size is better value, but if you just fancy trying it or want a smaller size for travelling, the 50ml gives you that option. £12.20 is quite pricey for a scrub, there are cheaper ones out there but I love this too much!
The smell...oh, the smell...I could stay in the shower for hours smelling this stuff! It smells so tasty, almost chocolately - that will be the cocoa in it! It leaves a light fragrance on the skin, nothing too overpowering. I find that using the Cocoa Butter Body Butter afterwards strengthens the smell.
The texture of the scrub is very creamy. Some of the fruitier Body Shop scrubs are oilier, which leaves a residue on your skin and the bath/shower is dangerously slippy, but this leaves nothing behind. I don't find that the scrubbing ingredient (ground rice) is too abrasive, but I would say it is more exfoliating than other brands, something to bear in mind. I find it is just perfect - I don't like scrubs that don't do the job properly!
I tend to use this on my arms and legs, particularly my elbows and knees, where I think a lot of people experience dryness. Using this regularly followed by a good body moisturiser really works wonders on my elbows. Time was they were always dry and horrible, now they are lovely and soft like the rest of my arms.
One of the 200ml tubs lasts me a few months. I use this twice a week at the most, sometimes only once, and I use a small dollop per arm and leg - scooping it from the tub with two fingers. Always rinse it off thoroughly, and I'll give you some advice - if you're going to use this in the bath, do it right before you get out or you'll be sitting in sand!
I'd recommend this strongly. The fragrance is lovely, and the product really works for me - and it feels quite indulgent, but it is actually a practical purchase to get rid of dry skin!! If you're unsure, try the smaller 50 ml tub or ask in store for a small sample to try at home - I've had that for other products, they will give you a tiny tub with enough for one use in it.
Summary: Heaven in a tub
