I always get Body Shop stuff for Christmas and this Body Butter came in a coconut gift set. I'm also the proud owner of Coconut Shimmer Body Butter but this review is for Coconut Body Butter.

The cost of the set is £10, the body butter is only 50ml but is available at £12.50 for 200ml (at time of writing). The tub has had a facelift and differs from the one shown, it now features a uncut coconut. The usual information is on the label ie the butter is for normal to dry skin. It contains coconut oil and claims 24hr hydration. It has a easy to turn screw lid with cellophane ring around it.

On opening you can smell the coconut, it's not unlike sun cream. The consistency is like butter- although I think this one is creamier than their shimmer version. I love the look of it, it seems a shame to spoil it with finger marks!. The cream itself is cream coloured. A small amount goes along way I find one finger swipe is enough for one arm, the small tub has lasted me a couple of months and still seems fresh.

Once applied the butter mostly melts into my skin, however after several hours I can still 'feel' it on me, my skin feels moisturised but not greasy or sticky. I don't know about the 24hr hydration claim but I can say my skin stays almost moist all day. The butter doesn't leave a residue on my clothes. Even after a day I can still smell it on my skin. It washes off with soap if necessary- hands for example.

I love this stuff, the added bonus being The Body Shops' Fair Trade policy, Animal and Human ethics and of course their ingredients.
