Advantages: It gave me smooth soft skin!

Disadvantages: The beads in their arent strong enough for me, there are better exfolitors out there!

If you have read my other reviews on The Body Shop's coconut products, you will know I received a small coconut gift set off a friend. I have now nearly reviewed every product in the gift set, and I though I've got to review the 'Coconut Body Scrub as well'!

Out of my whole gift set, this was my favourite item of all in there! I received a small 50ml tube in my gift set, which is perfect as I have never used the scrub before so it wouldn't have gone to waste if I didn't use it. I don't know how much a 50ml tube costs as a 50ml tube only comes within a gift set, but the gift set was around £12, but you can buy a 200ml tube four around £12, but when on special offer you can pick it up just under £9! The body scrub can seem a bit expensive but to me nothing in the body shop is cheap, and you get what you pay for!

The body scrub is an exfoliator, n which contains little beads in the cream to rub against your body to remove dead skin cells. I first used the body scrub in the bath. I took a fair amount out of the tub and rubbed it over my body with my hands, I refrained from using a sponge as I find the beads get stuck in their! As I massage the scrub over my body I could instantly feel the beads rubbing against my skin to remove dead skin. However I was disappointed as I thought the beads would be harsher against my skin to remove more dead skin, but I found the beads just weren't harsh enough. I tried using the scrub gentle on my face, and I found it worked perfectly. It wasn't too harsh against my face but it was harsh enough to remove dead skin cells and close my open pours!

After I got out the bath I had smooth soft skin which lasted a few days, but I soon founded I needed to exfoliate quite soon after, and normally as I have sensitive skin I only try to exfoliate about twice a week, but with this product I needed to do it about 3 or 4 times a week!

The body scrub had a gorgeous coconut smell to it, just the same as the other products in my gift! However I found the smell didn't last as long as the other products in my gift set, but I didn't mind this as I was scrubbing my skin not moisturising it etc.

Overall I found this a good product. But I wouldn't buy this product for myself as I found I have other better exfoliators. I would advise people to try and buy a small tube first before buying the big tube just in case you don't like it, other wise it may be a waste of money! I wouldn't recommend people to buy this product on its own as a gift for someone, but if it was part of a gift set then its perfect!

Summary: I wouldn't buy this product for me, but its perfect if part of a gift set for someone!
