The Body Shop Fake It ... create natural-looking, bronzed skin without harmful exposure to the sun. An ideal way to top up and maintain a tan.

... fake tans often smell rather too much of chemicals. I'd advice applying it with a soft make-up sponge and make sure your skin is smooth and buffed up first. You'll need a lot less than you think. Put a bit on each day until you build a tan that suits you. If you do it all at once the result won't be as natural looking. I didnt find that it smeared much or stained my clothes after putting it on, but I am careful. I even use it on my face which I know isn't usually recommended and the result is a natural honey tan. ...more

Premium Review The Body Shop Fake It Self Tan--One Of The Best Self Tanners ... (688 words)

I don't know about you but I always have to purchase a couple of bottles/tubes of a self tanning product in spring to get my winter white skin in shape for the warm summer months. I don't like wearing shorts and having my legs a pale white. It's just disgusting looking in my opinion. Here in southern Louisiana we hit the 80's in March and that is when the shorts come out and my search for a better self tanning product begins each year. This year so far I've tried two products and this latest from The Body Shop has been my favorite. It's called Fake It! Self-Tan Lotion. Product Details Fake It! Self-Tan Lotion comes in a 6.75 fl. oz. tube with a ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Hideous Body Shop Fake Tan (106 words)

I think that the Body Shop Fake Tan was horrible! After the application you looked like you were really yellow/orange. I remember once, I applied it just before I went to sleep and the next morning I was in shock. My colour was hideous! I had to go to a lecture and I felt really embarrased as I caught many people staring at me. I have used many fake tan products, but this one was the worst ever! I am big fan of Body Shop products and I am glad that they're not going to produce any more of this hideous fake tan! ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review The Body Shop Fake It: Don't follow the instructions on the packaging! (474 words)

I have never used fake tan before until this year, and I bought this product as my mother recommended it to me. I followed the instructions given to me by my mother rather than those on the packet. The new packaging, which has only just been introduced, advises that you exfoliate and moisturise 24 hours before using the product. I followed my mother's advice and exfoliated and moisturised every day for a week beforehand, then moisturised immediately before using the product. I then used a very small amount of the product and then moisturised again straight after to blend in any mistakes. The results after the first use were only slightly noticeable, to get ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Legs like the Tango man! (130 words)

I bought some Body Shop Fake It because it was a basket marked 'reduced'. I'd never thought of trying this before but it was cheap and since it was from Body Shop it had to be a god buy. I was wrong. I applied the stuff one night after a shower and when I got up in the morning my legs had gone the colour of ginger biscuits, sort of pale yellowy orange. This stuff doesn't come off either. I just had to wear trousers until my legs looked like human ones again. I've since discovered that this product has now been discontinued at Body Shop, and thats a good thing. If you see it in a 'reduced' basket, don't be tempted! ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review The Body Shop Fake It: Looked fine on me (195 words)

I am on my second bottle of Body Shop Fake It! fake tan and I must say it looks pretty nice on me. I do have olive skin normally so I guess that this tan works best on darker skins. I find that this is easy to apply, doesn't leave streaks and works quickly so I was surprised by the amount of negative reviews that this product has received but I guess that it all depends on one's natural skin tone. One thing is that it doesn't smell that nice, but at least the smell is not offensive like some fake tans used to have a few years ago, phew! In any case I usually use the tan overnight so then the next morning I just use my regular body cream ...  Read the complete review
