Advantages: Amazing scent, beautiful effects on my skin.

Disadvantages: Nothing!

I'm a big fan of The Body Shop's Japanese Cherry Blossom range and the perfume in this scent is probably my all time favourite. I often purchase all of the items in this range and layer the scent to make it as strong as possible and this includes moisturising my body with Japanese Cherry Blossom Body Butter after a bath or shower.

The body butter can be purchased from The Body Shop stores or ordered from their website, a 200ml pot costing £12.50. I currently have a smaller 50ml pot which I managed to pick up in the stores recent sale for a bargain price of £2.50 although I don't think these smaller pots are available any more.

The packaging of this body butter is lovely and matches the scent of the product perfectly. The butter is contained in a solid colour pink plastic pot with black screw on lid. The lid contains a pale pink sticker showing the white The Body Shop logo, product name and short description. Crawling down the right hand side of this sticker is a drawing of a beautiful looking cherry blossom, some blossoms attached to a branch, others falling to the bottom of the pot. The pot gives the whole product a very delicate feel which is true of the scent of the actual body butter.

Unscrewing the lid of this pot reveals a creamy pale pink body butter which has a thick consistency. The smell is absolutely beautiful. A very delicate, light, sweet and floral scent, not over powering in the slightest but strong enough to easily detect instantly. This is what I would class as a summery scent but one I can happily still wear all year round. Whether or not this closely resembles the scent of an actual cherry blossom I don't know as I've never smelt one. Regardless it really is a lovely scent and I highly doubt there would be many people out there who would disagree.

To apply the body butter I simply scoop it up a blob out of the pot and start massaging into clean, dry skin. The circular pot means it's easy to get out every last bit of product so none goes to waste. The body butter soaks into my skin very quickly and little rubbing is required. It doesn't leave any white marks or residue and my skin never feels greasy after application. In fact the only effects this body butter has on my skin are very positive ones.

After applying this my skin feels a whole lot more hydrated and this hydration really does last. My skin feels softer and smoother and is left with a nice healthy glow to it. My knees and elbows, which always welcome an extra bit of moisture, are left feeling soft, smooth and beautiful. The scent lasts for hours. Teamed up with the perfume and body mist from this range leaves me smelling of this for the entire day which always gets me lots of compliments. On the occasions where I use this product on its own after a bath or shower in the evening, I can still smell it on my skin the following morning which is the perfect wake up call for me.

I have no complaints with this product whatsoever. I use body butters almost daily so I've naturally worked my way through a fair few and this one is by far my favourite. The scent is just divine and has a lot of staying power, the long lasting hydration effects are perfect for the particularly dry areas of my skin and I'll never become bored of the soft and smooth skin this gives me! Like with all The Body Shop products this one hasn't been tested on animals and the soya oil this contains is fairtrade so, by buying this body butter, I'm not only helping my skin but I'm helping organic farmers in Brazil!

If you try this body butter it'll probably be the only one you ever want to use again, it really is that good.

Summary: The best body butter I've ever used - and I've used a lot!
