Advantages: Smells different but gorgeous!

Disadvantages: Nothing really.

I LOVE body butters from The Body Shop! I am a self confessed Body Shop aholic! I just can't help myself so when I place orders only to end up with free gifts I feel like I am getting something for nothing even though they make plenty of money out of me! One particular order a few months ago, through a Body Shop party meant that I could buy a makeup bag with some goodies in one of which was thick body butter and as it costs a fiver on its own it meant everything else was free, yes, you guessed it, I bought it!

This body butter is from a rather new range that The Body Shop has only brought out this year. Moringa is a flower, now this was a plant I had never heard of so I looked it up and although I didn't find out much about the flowers themselves I did find out that this is an amazing type of plant. This can be used to make bio fuels, grows in tropical climates but is drought resistant as well as being an easily sustainable crop. The leaves can be eaten too!

This body butter is nice and thick, it has a similar consistency to cold cream, almost solid but melts in contact with your skin. The cream is the palest yellow, doesn't look all that amazing but the scent is so different to anything I have used before let alone from The Body Shop who rarely do anything floral scented. This is floral but not in a rose or lavender way, it is subtle and intoxicating! This is hard to explain, as it is unusual but if you mixed honeysuckle and jasmine you might be close. It has a similar headiness to jasmine without being sickly sweet.

This body butter melts into the skin in a fantastic way, because of how thick it is I thought it might not sink in as well as it actually does. This disappears really quickly not leaving a trace on you, no oily residue in sight!

This is formulated for normal to dry skin but it is nowhere near as moisturising as their coconut version that is also for normal to dry skin. This does make skin feel soft, supple and moisturised but not overly so. I would think that dry skin might find this a little lacking.

I love this scent but I don't think I would want to use it on a daily basis, it is great when you are in a sunny mood in the summer but I don't know if it would get a little boring if you were just constantly smelling just this.

The scent does subtly linger on the skin and you can smell it without needing to put your skin right next to you nose. I like that but I think it might fight with some perfumes.

I don't tend to like many floral fragrances so if you are the same don't automatically write this one off it is different!

I think that at £5.00 for the small 50ml tub and £12.00 for the larger 200ml tub this isn't bad value. It really does last, where you don't need an awful lot to cover a large area of skin, it spreads out really well.

There is a range of six products so you can layer the fragrance should you want to.
Moringa Body Scrub £5.00 - £12.00 50 / 200ml
Moringa foaming Bath £8.00 400ml
Moringa Soap £2.50 100g
Moringa Milk Body Lotion £3.00 - £8.00 60 / 250ml
Moringa Shower Gel £2.50 - £6.00 60 / 250ml

The Body Shop is involved with many charities and foundations, information on these can be found through links on their website. None of their products are tested on animals. They also run their own version of fair trade, which they call community trade, they pay fair prices to farmers of the ingredients they buy. Details of their community trade programme can also be found on their website.

The website is very user friendly and means not only can you buy online (good P&P charges and fast delivery) but you can also find out more about their products and find out where your local store is situated.

I have been reading a lot about Moringa - it seems to be showing itself as a really solid anti-ageing ingredient.
