The Body Shop Moringa Body Butter
Advantages: Rich and moisturising, smells divine.
Disadvantages: Very expensive.
Over the past winter months I've been using a lot of body butter products as the cold, vicious weather has been leaving my skin feeling like sandpaper. One brand of body butter that I favour is the range from the Bodyshop. They have a wide variety of delicious fragrances and are the richest moisturiser I've ever used. I always prefer to try and use them during the colder months as they feel more nourishing than other moisturisers. I recently purchased a gift set of Moringa products and this included a tub of Moringa body butter. Amongst all of the products in the collection I was most looking forward to using this.
You can currently buy Moringa Body Butter online in a 200ml sized tub. It's £13 so it's quite pricey but the brand often do promotions so I suggest looking out for these. The tub in my gift set is a much smaller size at 50ml (or 48g). The Moringa themed products are all coloured a pale, daffodil yellow so both the plastic tub and the body butter itself are this sunny, springtime shade.
The product comes in a hard plastic tub with an easy to remove screw off lid. The label on the top of the tub is printed with a pretty picture of the white bride-like Moringa flower. It looks very pretty and feminine. Another label on the bottom of the tub has a peel back segment where you can read full ingredients, directions for use and see contact information for the brand. Ingredients for this body butter include shea butter and Moringa seed oil. The brand state that this body butter is best for normal to dry skin and that it provides "24 hour hydration".
The body buter looks like it has set into a hard mold and you need to really dig your fingertips into the surface at first. When you break into the shiny top it's then easier to scoop up the body butter bit by bit. The butter is very dense and creamy. It's similar in consistency to other body butters from the same brand that I've used but if possible this one seems marginally thicker and slightly more oily too. It's as though the oil is seeping out of the cream. The butter feels very soft and is enjoyable to use. Despite it's rich texture it sinks into the skin easily and does not leave any streaks.
The butter has an instant effect on the skin, making it feel healthy, supple and soft. I like using this body butter on every inch of my body but it feels especially nice to apply it to my arms and chest as the scent is so pleasant. It's also great on areas that might be drier and where the skin might be harder. I like to put it on my upper body though. I also just apply it to my hands sometimes after washing them and it works well as a hand cream too. When I'm smothered in this butter I feel as though I have a golden aura.
The fragrance of the Moringa body butter is very fine. It's a unique, delicate fragrance that makes me think of summer meadows, lemon cocktails and jewels of the rainforest. It's a feminine fragrance that would suit any age. Of all the body butters from the Bodyshop this one has a sophisticated perfume that mimics an eau de toilette and is one that makes me feel as though I'm using something that is very expensive and exquisite. I really love the scent and am pleased to be able to use some of the other products in the Moringa range such as the shower gel to get even more from the fragrance.
The Moringa Body Butter provides long lasting moisturisation, comfort and fragrance and I'm enjoying using it on a daily basis. I would definitely like to buy this again but I do find the price a little out of my range at the moment. I think the price is based on a number of things such as quality of ingredients and the fact that the firm is ethical and doesn't test on animals. I would say that I feel like a princess when I'm using this so I would probably agree to paying as much for it. I would love to receive it as a gift too and think that as far as giving it as a gift to others that most ladies will probably like the Moringa fragrance and appreciate the fine qualities of the product.
