Advantages: Great pretty pot, great quality body butter, great results for skin
Disadvantages: A little expensive, not my favourite scent
I am often given body moisturisers and lotions as gifts and although I moisturise a few times a week I still seem to have a never ending supply of the stuff. I feel fairly certain this is something I will never have to buy myself as I already seem to have a life time supply and it's my birthday next month so no doubt I will increase my supply further. I was given a pot of The Body Shop Moroccan Rose Body Butter for Christmas year before last.
- The Packaging -
The body butter comes in a pale pink pot with a screw on lid. The plastic is quite thick which to me gives the impression of a quality cream. The lid screws on and off easily but doesn't come off when not in use. On the top of the lid there is a pretty print of a rose plant with flowering roses. This is in a deep pink/purple colour which works well against the pale pink pot and looks very elegant and feminine. Also on the lid you can clearly see the Body Shop brand and name of the cream. There is a brief description that says 'beautiful skin softening, with precious oil from roses hand-picked at dawn' ( because no other time would do!) and that it is for normal/dry skin. The bottom of the pot gives a list of ingredients which I won't list as I don't think it makes particularly interesting reading. However, it is worth mentioning that The Body Shop has a great ethos of fair trade so that for all the ingredients used the seller will receive a fair price. I think this is highly commendable. Overall I would say the container is attractive and functional. I like a pot for body butter as it is really easy to get every last drop of cream out.
- Applying the Cream -
As I would expect from a body butter this cream is quite thick and creamy. It isn't too thick though, I would describe the consistency as perfect for a body butter. The smell is pleasant but to be honest it isn't really my ideal scent. It smells of roses as you would expect but I thought it might be a slightly more interesting scent because the name is Moroccan Rose. I do like that the smell is light, fresh and feminine. It would suit any age really but I would say it is better suited to a woman rather than a man. The cream rubs into my skin nicely leaving my skin feeling hydrated and soft. It doesn't leave my hands feeling too greasy and I don't feel the need to wash them after applying the cream.
- The Results -
After using this cream all over my body a few times a week for a couple of weeks my skin feels great! My skin is smooth, tight, soft and feels very hydrated. It does everything I would expect from a body butter. Using this after a summer holiday has helped me keep my tan a little longer and has prevented my skin from becoming dry and peeling. I haven't had any irritations from using this even on my legs after shaving. Overall I am very happy with the results.
- Price and Availability -
This body butter is available from The Body Shop where it is currently priced at £12.50 for 200ml. I do find this a little expensive but the quality is high so perhaps it is worth this price.
- Would I Recommend? -
I would recommend this body butter as it is a great quality product and does everything I would expect it to do. The container is easy to use and attractive. I wasn't overly keen on the scent so if I were to purchase a Body Shop body butter I would definitely go for a different scent, but this is just my personal preference.
Summary: I great quality body butter but I would prefer a different scent
