Advantages: Really moisturises and nourishes skin & smells delicious.
Disadvantages: Pricey & can only use it before bed as it leaves greasy legs!
I never thought I had dry skin until a started using the body shop Brazil nut body butter. The only reason I bought it was because I was in a 'feeling sorry for myself and spending money will help' mode. I walked in the body shop and had a look and smell of the body butters there. They have loads of wonderful flavours/scents, good enough to eat; satsuma, cherry, grapefruit, coconut, the list goes on. I chose the Brazil nut butter as the scent wasn't as sweet and artificial as I thought the more fruity butters were. Brazil nut body butter is designed for dry skin, and the other body butters are for other skin types, I haven't got particularly dry skin but I liked the scent best so I thought it couldn't hurt to have a bit of extra moisture in my life.
You can buy all the body butters in either 50ml for £4.85 or 200ml for £12.20, which I think is quite expensive. I wouldn't normally spend this much on a body moisturizer, but as I said, I was in spending mode so I bought the 200ml tub.
Brazil nut body butter has a brown coloured tub; each flavour has a different bright corresponding colour, which I think look nice and chunky, and they have a screw top. Like all body shop products, they are against animal testing, and the brazil nuts are fair trade.
I was eager to try my new purchases once I was home, and after a bath I opened my present. The butter almost filled the tub and was a creamy colour with a hint of brown. The smell is a bit like cocoa butter but with a bit of Brazil nut smell - lovely. As I scooped some out with my finger I noticed the constancy was a lot firmer than I imagined (just like butter in fact - I should have known), and I started to think 'how on earth and I going to rub this in!!' However once the butter was on my legs it completed melted in the warmth, and I needed less than I thought to smother both my legs in luxurious butter.
After I was well and truly moisturised I have to say it did feel a little greasy, but as I was going to bed it didn't really matter. I have since then used the butter before going out and I must say it doesn't feel very nice having greasy legs under jeans!! So I will only be using it before bed from now on. In the morning, however, the butter had all been adsorbed and my legs were thanking me for it.
Any way I have been using the Brazil nut body butter for a week now and the difference in my legs is amazing. I didn't think I had dry skin but I didn't know I could have skin like this - silky, smooth legs and smelling delicious too. I will defiantly keep using it on my legs and maybe try some of the other flavours.
Summary: I can have lovely conditioned, smooth legs too.
