Advantages: Softens skin, cools and refreshes, smells lovely
Disadvantages: Takes a while to sink in
My feet do get rather dry at times, nothing too bad but I decided to try this to soften them. I use it along with other products in the range such as the foot scrub and cooling spray.
This lotion is used by people running the London Marathon every year.
The bottle is clear plastic with a flip top lid. The lotion needs to be squeezed out and this can be quite hard so give the bottle a few gentle shakes but be careful that too much doesn't come out. The label is blue and has The Body Shop logo on it with a footprint and "Peppermint Cooling Foot Lotion." It is quite a pretty blue and rather eye catching. The cream itself is a pretty baby pink colour and this works well against the blue of the label. Obviously it smells minty lol but it is a lovely natural mint smell. It is not too strong or synthetic.
The ingredients are: qua (Solvent/Diluent), Octyl Palmitate (Emollient), Ceteth-20 (Emulsifier), Cyclomethicone (Emollient), Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil (Emollient), Vitis Vinifera Seed Oil (Skin Conditioner), Steareth-2 (Emulsifier), Stearyl Alcohol (Emollient), Glycerin (Humectant), Alcohol Denat. (Solvent/Diluent), Carbomer (Stabiliser/Viscosity Modifier), Theobroma Cacao Butter (Emollient), Myristamidopropyl PG-Dimonium Chloride Phosphate (Skin-Conditioning Agent), Mentha Piperita Oil (Fragrance/Essential Oil), Phenethyl Alcohol (Fragrance Ingredient), Caprylyl Glycol (Skin Conditioning Agent), Sodium Hydroxide (pH Adjuster), p-Anisic Acid (pH Modifier), Acidophilus/Grape Ferment (Natural Additive), Menthol (Fragrance/Cooling Agent), Disodium EDTA (Chelating Agent), Limonene (Fragrance Ingredient), Linalool (Fragrance Ingredient), Propyl Gallate (Opacifier/Antioxidant), Tocopheryl Acetate (Antioxidant), Butylene Glycol (Humectant), Denatonium Benzoate (Denaturant), CI 17200 (Colour), CI 15985 (Colour).
The lotion costs £8.00 for a 250ml bottle and I think this is great value for money.
Like all Body Shop products it is not tested on animals and it contains community trade cocoa beans from Ghana so you are helping people less fortunate than ourselves.
Make sure your feet are clean and dry and it is not necessary but using the scrub beforehand will get better results. You just need to apply a small amount and it leaves your feet really soft and smooth. The peppermint also cools your feet and makes them feel nice and refreshed. It is nice to give your feet a massage as you rub it in. This is very relaxing
It does take a while to absorb and is a little greasy so I recommend using the socks you can buy from The Body Shop or simply putting your slippers on after you use it. Don't walk around with bare feet as you may find dust etc will stick.
Overall Id say this was a great product that makes feet feel nice and soft as well as refreshed.
Summary: A lovely smelling cream that gives feet a nice softening treat
