The Body Shop pink grapefruit body butter
I have been a huge fan of The Body Shop and all its lovely products for years and years now. In particular I think that the body butters are the best all over body moisturisers out there and I have been using various scented body butters for as long as I can remember. There are a few scents that I love more than others and the pink grapefruit body butter is my absolute favourite body moisturiser! It is a scent that I keep on returning too time and time again. It just smells yummy and fresh.
The Body Shop say: "This rich and creamy Body Butter is a feast for the skin. It melts straight in to leave skin feeling soft and smooth. It contains Community Fair Trade cocoa butter and has a zingy grapefruit scent."
And Zingy grapefruit scent the body butter has in spades. On opening the tub of body butter the first thing that you can't help but notice is the lovely and strong fragrance of pink grapefruit. But if you don't like pink grapefruit then it really might be best to stay away because the Body Shop have spared no expense in making a strong and mostly natural fruity fragrance. Granted the smell is a little on the sweet side of grapefruit, but in my opinion I don't find it sickly or overly sweet, it still has that tart grapefruit element that makes it a favourite of mine, it is an absolutely yummy smell and I love it. I would highly recommend the Body Shop pink grapefruit body butter based on the smell alone.
The body butter as you might expect is really thick and the texture does somewhat resemble butter (maybe more like margarine). It is really easy to apply and I tend to be quite heavy handed when applying it. Personally, I find that the body butter is great to use after a bath or shower. In the summer I like to pop the body butter in the fridge, it makes it even nicer to apply to hot skin and stops it from going overly soft in the heat, not that I have had that problem at the moment in this never ending winter. As I mentioned the body butter is really thick so it can take quite a while to properly sink into your skin so in my experience don't apply this if you are in a hurry to get dressed. If you have tried any of the other Body Shop body butters then the pink grapefruit body butter is no different apart from the lovely pale pink colour.
After I apply the body butter I do notice that the smell does linger on my skin for quite a while after it begins to sink in, but the smell does become less noticeable quite quickly. But of all the Body Shop butters I have tried I can usually smell the pink grapefruit scent for probably the longest.
The Body Shop claim that the body butter provides 24 hour hydration and I would have to agree, I can still feel this moisturiser hours after applying it. I have never quite checked 24 hours exactly but it does keep my skin lovely and soft. The Body Shop also recommend the pink grapefruit body butter for normal to dry skin and having skin that I would probably classify as 'normal' the body butter does leave my skin in a lovely condition and with constant use it does help alleviate any drier areas. When I was pregnant it was a lovely and fresh body butter that helped my poor stretched belly feel lots better and helped the stretched skin feel softer and smoother. If only it could help get rid of stretch marks...
A whole tub of the body butter can last me a couple of months but with more constant daily use, especially in the summer when I have been in the sun a lot I can use all the body butter up within a month. However, unfortunately this moisturiser doesn't come cheap and retails at full price for £13. But, I often bulk buy items from The Body Shop when they are in the sale making them far cheaper and more affordable. I have also found that The Body Shop body butters make great gifts or look lovely in gift sets.
Overall, I really love this product. The body butter is great at keeping my skin moisturised while smelling lovely. Personally, I highly recommend The Body Shop's pink grapefruit body butter, it is a lovely and memorable scent that I have bought time and time again and I am sure will continue to do so. It's my absolute favourite. If you love pink grapefruit then I can't imagine that you wouldn't love the Body Shop pink grapefruit body butter.
