The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Body Scrub
Advantages: It smells fabulous
Disadvantages: Its a bit pricey
Up until joining Dooyoo I never used The Body Products but after reading several lovely reviews I decided to give their products and try and was hooked. While my baby Jayden was in the special care baby unit Mark and myself spent a lot of hours at the hospital which has a little shopping centre in it including The Body Shop. My parents came to see Jayden and stopped at the shops on the way out where my mum treated me to some goodies from The Body Shop, one of them was their Pink Grapefruit Body Scrub. I had already used the Pink Grapefruit Body Butter which smells lovely so I was looking forward to trying this.
The body scrub doesn't come in a box its just sold in a small plastic pot with a simple screw top lid. The lid is a darkish pink colour and has The Body Shop logo in the middle, around the edge of the label informs the customer that this is Pink Grapefruit Body Scrub, this is repeated in a second language. The size of the scrub, 200ml's, is also shown on the top as well as the side of the pot.
When I removed the lid of this there was absolutely no doubt at all what the fragrance of this product was, the pink grapefruit smell is so fresh and fruity and smells good enough to eat. Its a very clean smell and, in my opinion, ideal for a skin care product.
The scrub is fairly runny and feels quite gritty, to use the scrub you need to scoop the product from the jar which isn't the easiest with wet hands.
Price and Availability
Obviously this is available from The Body Shop both on the high street and online, I'm not sure if anywhere else sells this product other than it occasionally pops up on Amazon or ebay. At full price the pink grapefruit body scrub costs £12.50 for a 200ml pot, I'm sure my mum would have paid full price getting it from the hospital concourse, however if you go online The Body Shop often have sales and you can often pick things up much cheaper.
I use this product a couple of times a week and I can really see the results, my skin is smooth and looks and feels great. The scrub is quite sloppy to use but its not too much of a problem. It feels nice and gritty to use so you actually feel like you are doing come good, on the other hand its not so rough that you feel like you've been sanded down afterwards. The little gritty bits gradually dissolve as you rub the scrub into your skin making it nice and easy to rinse away.
The smell of this is gorgeous it really is fresh, however it doesn't really last once rinsed away. The Body Shop also do a pink grapefruit Body Butter which I also have so to keep the fragrance going I apply this afterwards.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Pink Grapefruit Body Scrub, its a really nice product although a bit expensive when not on offer.
Summary: A nice scrub that leaves my skin feeling lovely
