The Body Shop Raspberry Body Butter
I had never really tried body butter before buying this Raspberry body butter from The Body Shop, I went in for a browse and saw this on special offer for £4 down from the full price of £13 and never being able to resist a bargain I purchased a tub to try.
The body butter comes in a thick plastic tub; the tub is circular with approximate dimensions of 15 cm diameter and a depth of 6 cm. The colour of the pot is a lovely bright purple/dark pink that matches the flavour of the body butter - raspberry. The tub has a screw on and off lid that is the entire top of the pot so that you can get right into it and grab the butter easily with little mess.
The lid of the body butter has The Body Shop logo in the centre and a background of a picture of some very juicy and succulent looking raspberries. The tub is quite bulky but it is full to the brim of body butter and I think if you paid anything near the full price you would want it to be!
On opening the tub you get an enormous blast of raspberry scent! So if you are not very keen on their smell then this is not the body butter for you. The body butter cream is a very thick consistency and really does look and feel like a tub of butter left out of the fridge. The colour of this is a pale pink shade.
I put my body butter on after coming out of the shower but when I am completely dry so that the butter can be rubbed in easily. I take two fingers worth and pull out a good blob of the butter and massage into my skin, mainly on my legs and arms. The body butter smells delicious as you are applying it to your skin and this scent lasts well after application. I absolutely love the smell of the raspberries and it really makes me think of summer and warmth.
The body butter sinks into my skin well and I do not need to wait around for tens of minutes for it to dry into my skin. I would say after around 5 minutes this has completely been absorbed, though obviously this depends on how much you use at a time. I try to use my body butter quite sparingly for two reasons, firstly because I am quite tight with money and secondly because a little of this really does go a long way.
My skin feels and smells amazing every time after applying this, it is very moisturising and this is due to its ingredients. The Body Shop use shea butter in their body butter products which comes from Ghana and is a fat extracted from the nut of the shea tree. This ingredient is used in a lot of cosmetics due to its rich moisturising properties.
Overall I am so pleased I bought a tub of this and at £4 I believe I got a real bargain. It smells amazing and really improves the quality of my skin. Available in stores and online at www.thebodyshop.co.uk - Raspberry body butter.
Summary: I cannot fault this body butter and will definitely be restocking when the next sale is on - 5 stars
