Advantages: Works fairly well, feels nice to use
Disadvantages: Synthetic smell, expensive
I received this along with loads of other Body Shop goodies as part of a gift from a friend, and as with most of the other items, it's not something I would have bought myself as I can't justify the cost for something as simple as a shower gel. It costs £2.40 for a little travel-sized 60ml bottle, or £5.85 for the full-sized 250ml bottle.
It comes in a clear plastic bottle so you can always easily see how much you have left. The top has a flip-top lid which does fasten nice and tightly, so it's fine to leave in a bag and take away with you without worrying about spillages.
The gel is a nice deep red colour, with a fairly thick consistency, which makes it feel nice and luxurious to use. The thick texture means that a little goes a long way and you don't need to use as much at a time as you would with a runnier gel.
It lathers up really quickly and easily, and you really only do need the tiniest amount, especially if you use it on a shower puff or sponge. The lather it produces is really thick and soft, and it feels lovely and smooth and soft against the skin.
The scent is fairly nice, but I find it is quite a synthetic smell, and comparing it to other Body Shop scents in particular, I wasn't overly impressed by this one. It is nice, but just a little too sweet and fake smelling for my liking, which is a shame as I normally absolutely adore strawberry scents!
After using this my skin feels fresh and clean, and it doesn't feel like it's stripped my skin. There's no dry or tight feeling that I so often get with other shower gels, but at the same time I don't feel that it moisturises my skin at all. It just leaves it feeling nice and clean and soft, without drying it out.
This is a decent shower gel, but by Body Shop standards it was quite disappointing, and for that price I would expect something a little more special.
Summary: Below par for the Body Shop
