      Vanilla Bliss Body Butter

      The Product
      = = = = = =
I became a fan of the body butters from The Body Shop last year when I tried the cocoa butter body butter for the first time. I loved the smell of this product and I loved the way it left my skin feeling really soft and smooth. Although the product was quite pricey and probably is a lot more than what I would normally spend it was money well spent. I know they do a large range of different body butters and some with delicious scents. The product I am reviewing is a Limited edition body butter from The Body Shop. I was on their website browsing their range of products as I thought I would treat myself to a few things. This product caught my attention after seeing Vanilla. I love the scent of vanilla and quite often use products with the scent of vanilla in them. When I saw this body butter I just had to try it so I added it to my basket on the website along with some other products. The Body Butter is a limited edition festive fragrance which means shortly after Christmas you will no longer be able to purchase this product. The body butter contains Vanilla extract and Community fair Trade Cocoa Butter and is suitable for all skin types. The product claims to melt straight into your skin leaving it feeling softer and smoother to give you 24-hour hydration. As the product is called Vanilla Bliss it has a lovely rich vanilla scent to it which is one of the main reasons why I purchased this particular product. The body butter comes in a metallic beige round tube just like the other body butters and on the lid it has a picture of a white flower and some vanilla pods. The print on the side of the tub is in a gold colour and it states what the product is and what it does. On the bottom of the tub is a round label which can be peeled back to reveal some information about the product such as ingredients. None of the product from The Body Shop is tested on animals and this is clearly displayed on all of their products.

      Using the Product

I always normally apply body butter after showering or having a bath. The lid to the tub was easy to unscrew which revealed the lovely smooth looking body butter. The butter was a creamy/off white colour and looked really smooth with a slight shine to it. When I smelt the product I was really surprised at the lack of the Vanilla scent it had to it. There was a slight hint of vanilla but it wasn't nearly as strong as I hoped and expected it to be. I was hoping that maybe the scent would become slightly stronger when using it. I dipped 2 of my fingertips into the butter and scooped some out and rubbed it onto my skin. The butter felt extremely soft against my skin and it soon warmed up and melted leaving my skin feeling silky smooth and soft. The scent of the product was slightly stronger now I had started using it and it left a lovely light vanilla scent on my skin. I continued to use the butter all over my body. The butter didn't take long to soak in and it didn't leave my skin feeling greasy. I was able to get dressed shortly after applying the butter without having to worry about it leaving any grease on my bed clothes. I went to bed and would assess the results in the morning. The following morning I woke up and although the scent of the product wasn't as strong I could still smell the vanilla smell from the butter which was delicious. My skin felt extremely soft and smooth in the morning, much softer than it had done if I hadn't of applied the butter. There was also a slight vanilla smell on my bed sheets as well; how-ever this was quite nice. I sometimes suffer from dry patches of skin on my legs and it's often quite itchy and can then turn sore. The body butter helped to moisturise my skin meaning it no longer itched. The dry patches have improved since I have started using this product.

      Overall Opinion

I love this body butter and I love the smell it leaves on my skin. Although the butter doesn't smell much when it's in the tub it smells stronger when applied to the skin. Although I love a lot of the body butters from The Body Shop this is definitely one of my favourites and I'm really gutted that it's Limited Edition. This body butter is extremely moisturising and melts into the skin without leaving it feel greasy. I use the body butter every evening before going to bed and my skin stays moisturised for the whole day. Since I have been using the product my skin is in better condition and I don't have as much dry skin as I had before. I can't fault this product in anyway and I haven't got anything bad to say about the product. I can't recommend this product highly enough and will be sure to stock up on it before it disappears. I am also very tempted to purchase some of the other products in the Vanilla Bliss range.
