Advantages: Smells lovely, works well, easily absorbed

Disadvantages: Expensive at full price

As any of you who read my reviews will know I love the Body Shop Body Butters and have tried a fair few of them. At Christmas I received a 200ml pot of one of the newer fragrances called Vineyard Peach and it is lovely!

These currently cost £13.00 each although if, like me, you have a Love Your Body card you get 10% off all purchases either in store or online so it would only cost £11.70. They are also often available on EBay at good prices too.

The packaging is the same as all the other Body Shop Body Butters in that it is a round, screw topped pot. The colour of each pot is relevant to the body butter inside and so this one is peach in colour. Each pot has a really simple design with a picture on the top of the flower, fruit or nut which is the main ingredient of the body butter.

Not unsurprisingly this one has a picture of a peach on the top with two small green leaves sprouting from the top. In the centre of the picture is the Body Shop logo in silver. Around the side of the pot are the words 'Vineyard Peach Body Butter 200ml - 6.7oz - 192g' in English and French. The peel off label on the bottom of the pot has a more information about the butter including a full list of the ingredients and also some information about the Body Shop Community Trade Project.

When I unscrewed the lid a wonderful fragrance of peaches wafted around the room. The top of the butter inside was smooth and glossy and, of course, it was a pale peachy colour.

I wasn't certain whether I was actually going to like the Vineyard Peach Body Butter. I love to eat peaches but I have to admit to being a little unsure about wearing them!

The only way to find out was to try it. I ran my fingers across the top of the butter, finding it to be as smooth and pleasant to the touch as all the other body butters I have tried.

I scooped a small amount out and began to apply it to my skin. As usual it was absorbed into my skin almost immediately and it made my skin feel soft and smooth without being the slightest bit greasy and yes, the smell was lovely! I actually liked the fragrance ion my skin and enjoyed smelling like a peach - it is a delicate fragrance which lasts all day but it isn't so strong that you feel as though you're in a greengrocers!

After doing a bit of investigation on the Body Shop website I discovered that all of the Body Shop Body Butters are made from a base of cocoa butter with various different added fragrances and since cocoa butter melts at body temperature this is why the body butter is so easily absorbed into the skin.

There are many other fragrances available in the body butter range as well as all the other ranges - body scrubs, shower gels, soap etc. There are ones made from nut oils such as almond, coconut and Brazil but I am not very keen on these. Most of the fruit ones are nice enough and I particularly like Satsuma, mango and passion fruit, but my real favourite of them all is Moringa which, in my opinion, has the best fragrance of any of them!

Getting back to the Vineyard Peach Body Butter the Body Shop also makes a matching Body Scrub and I have seen shower gel and body lotion although I don't know if these are still being made as I can't find them on the website.

The other big advantage of buying from The Body Shop is the fact that they have many projects in place to help to support the growers of all their ingredients and help to give them an improved standard of life. Of course, it almost goes without saying, that nothing made by The Body Shop would ever be tested on animals!

So there you have it - another lovely Body Butter from The Body Shop. It isn't my absolute favourite but I do really like it and glad that it was one of my Christmas presents!
