Advantages: smells nice, exfoliates well

Disadvantages: price

I have a Body Shop 'Love your Body' card, which entitles you to a free gift up to the value of £5 during the month of your Birthday. For my free gift I decided to choose one of their travel-sized tubs of Body Scrub.

I went for the Wild Cherry fragrance, because I like fruity fragrances and the seemed a little bit unusual. I think usually when people think of cherry fragrances, they think of the overly sweet artificial fragrance you get in products like cherryade. This has a more natural cherry scent - it's very strong and although it does smell like cherries, it's not as sweet as you may expect. In the tub it's quite a strong, heavy scent and I imagine it would not be to everyone's taste.

The scrub comes in a clear tub with a dark red, screw top lid complete with a picture of some juicy looking cherries. I found the scrub itself to be quite runny and so I think that perhaps a tube would have been a more appropriate way to package this, as it can be quite difficult to scoop out of the tub without it running through your fingers.

The scrub is red coloured and is peppered with black kiwi seeds. As well as these kiwi seeds it also contains crushed walnut shells, which are smaller particles, and both help to exfoliate the skin, removing dead skin cells, revealing fresher, smoother skin underneath.

As the scrub was quite runny, I found that only a small amount would cover a fairly large amount of skin. The scrub had a generous amount of 'scrubby bits' and as I rubbed it over my skin, it felt like it was working, whilst not being too harsh or abrasive on my skin.

After rinsing this away, the scent that was left on my skin was lovely. It was a lot fruitier than the scent of the product whilst it was in the tub and was really quite pleasant.

I remember the first time I used this scrub, I couldn't stop touching my arms where I'd used it, because they felt so soft and smooth! I have quite dry skin, and it becomes especially dried out on my elbows, and this really sloughed away all dry skin and left it feeling soft and smooth without being further dried out, or red as can sometimes happen with body scrubs.

The 50ml size of this is currently showing as being £3.50 on the Body Shop website (although I'm pretty sure it was £4.50 in store) and the full 200ml size is £9.00. This is quite pricey, but you can get away with using very little per use, which stretches the cost a bit.

Overall, I've been very pleased with this scrub, and if you like the natural smell of cherries, then I would definitely recommend giving this product a go.

Summary: Lovely scrub from The Body Shop
