Advantages: Smells lovely, fairly cheap, leave skin smoothe
Disadvantages: Leaves bath in a state
I was first introduced to The Sanctuary range about 2 years ago when I was bought a gift set for my birthday.
The Sanctuary
The Sanctuary Covent Garden is based in London (the name is a bit of a give away) and is a posh spa which is exclusive to ladies! The Sanctuary products only used to be available within The Sanctuary itself but they decided to release their range to be sold in shops so woman could ‘have their own Sanctuary at home’.
The Bath Relaxer
The Bath Relaxer product from The Sactuary range is basically a bath oil. It comes in a clear bottle with the Sanctuary logo written across the front. The lid is clear and the opening from which you pour the bath oil is orange (most of the Sanctuary products have this colour scheme)
This oil claims to be ‘an indulgent bath oil which soothes and moisturises the skin.
Price
The Sanctuary Bath Relaxer costs £4.50 for a 250ml bottle which is fairly reasonable, this is one of the cheaper products in the Sanctuary range.
The Smell
All Sanctuary items have a very distinctive smell, its quite hard to explain but once you smell it, it’s a smell you wont forget. The ingredients in this Bath Relaxer include almond oil, along with essential oil and spices. So overall, you have a product that smell fairly sweet but has a spicy undertone – very nice indeed! This product also smell slightly oily which would make sense with it being a bath oil.
To Use
The instructions advise you to pour about 2 lid full’s under warm running water.
My Opinion
My first thoughts after pouring the product into the bath is how slippery it makes the bath. Be very careful when getting it as the bath will be so slippy. The bath relaxer doesn’t actually produce bubbles as it is just an oil which is designed for you to lay back and relax in.
While I lay in the bath, I notice that the product leave a film of oil across the top of the water, not big oil patches but small little bubbles of oil lay all across the surface of the water.
I find that this product is great to use in the bath when you are shaving your legs as you don’t actually need to use any shaving gel as the oil makes your legs so smooth and sort of leave a protective film so shaving is very easy.
When I get out the bath, my skin feel so soft, you can rub your legs together and they literally slip off one another where they are so moisturised from the oil.
The scent of the product is left on your skin afterwards and even after you have dried yourself which is very pleasant and the bathroom always smells very nice for a while after you have emptied the bath.
There are only a couple of downsides to this product, the fact that it makes the bath so slippery and also the mess it leaves in the bath after you have emptied it. Its extremely difficult to clean the bath as the cleaning products don’t actually stick to the bath because of the oil.
Summary: Create your own Spa at home
