Advantages: Moisturising, smells great, sinks in quickly, no stickiness

Disadvantages: Some may find the full size expensive (but trust me it's worth it)

A while back I got a set of four little body butters from the Sanctuary free with a purchase, one of which was the Sanctuary Spa body butter. I have used quite a few products from the Sanctuary's Spa range (or 'orange' range as I refer to it), and I've had really good experiences with the majority of them, so I instinctively picked this one to try first before the others.

The body butter comes in a round white pot with an orange screw top lid. Personally I prefer body lotions that come in tubes, as unfortunately when you have to scoop the cream out of the pot, it tends to get underneath the nails, which is a bit of a pain!

The first thing you notice when you remove the lid is the smell of this body butter - it's absolutely gorgeous! It shares the same scent as the other products in the Sanctuary's spa range and is a light, fresh slightly orangey scent with a cocoa butter undertone. The ingredients in this, amongst other things are Shea butter and cocoa butter (both deeply moisturising), macadamia nut oil (an emollient to protect the skin), sweet almond oil (to soothe and calm the skin) and Vitamin E (a great antioxidant). You may expect from this list of ingredients to find a nutty scented product, however this is anything but, great for me as I'm not a fan of almond or nutty scents.

The butter is white in colour and has a fairly thick texture without being too heavy as some body butters can tend to be. I only had a small pot, so was unsure of how much use I would get from this product, but I found only the tiniest amount was needed to cover a large area of skin.

As I massaged this into my skin I couldn't help but notice how luxurious it felt. It's hard to describe, but it had a sort of silky texture and it just felt very indulgent to use it. The body butter sinks into the skin quickly and leaves it feeling moisturised without being sticky.

As someone who suffers from dry skin even in the summer months, I was very impressed by the moisturising capabilities of this. It left my skin feeling lovely and smooth and seemed to sort out any dry patches that I had. Another huge bonus for me with this product, was that the scent stayed on my skin for hours after applying it, but it's not so strong that it will clash with whichever perfume you are wearing.

The full 300ml sized tub of this body butter costs £7.29 from Boots, but if you'd like to try before you buy you could always get the travel sized version which is £2.20 for 50ml.

Apparently 82% of Cosmo readers say this is the best body butter they have ever tried, and I have to say I agree with them. Many body butters I've used in the past have been incredibly rich and felt heavy on the skin, whereas this feels light yet moisturising. Also because a lot of body butters are so thick I find that they clog up my skin and cause spots - again not the case with this one. Overall, I've been incredibly pleased with this product, and I can't wait to try the other three Sanctuary body butters I have!

Summary: Yummy body butter - absolutley fantastic
