Advantages: Rich and creamy, nice product
Disadvantages: Smell not for everyone
The Sanctuary Body Butter.
The Sanctuary began as a Spa in Covent Garden over 30 years ago. Their philosophy is all about providing the time, space and expertise for women to renew that glow. I've never been to the Spa but friends have been and they do say that it is a wonderful experience and definitely a very upmarket product.
The Sanctuary beauty products were produced in 1998. Customers had been wanting to take the spa experience home with them without needing a therapist or special equipment so they came up with the idea of selling their products. Apparently they are only sold exclusively at Boots and of course you can buy them in the spa's themselves. I've always liked the look of the products as I think they have quite an expensive, quality look about them. I have used the foaming bath soak for quite a while but this is the first time I have used the body butter.
The Sanctuary Spa Essentials Body Butter was voted Readers Choice Best Rich Moisturiser 2009 at the Woman & Home Best Beauty Buys Award 2009.
I actually received the body butter in a gift pack called Bath by Candlelight which also included some foaming bath soak and a candle. The body butter is described as an intensive moisture boost with rich cocoa butter, creamy shea butter and smoothing macadamia nut oil. The butter has the familiar Sanctuary product smell, quite a rich, fragrant spice smell. It's the kind of smell you would get when you visit a spa and get a treatment. It's not my favourite smell, although I do like it for a change from a more fruity smell.
The packaging of this body is a very distinctive orange colour with black writing on the front. It is the same as all the Sanctuary products. I think this gives the products quite an upmarket and classy look and makes you think to begin with that they are a very good product. The body butter comes in a tub making it quite easy to get the cream out of tub. The body butter itself is a light cream colour.
In the gift pack I received the body butter came in a tub weighing 50ml but you can buy bigger individual tubs of 475ml for £7.99.
On first look at the body butter it looks very rich and creamy. When you put it on your skin it is nice and luxurious and goes onto the skin well and soaks in well. It definitely leaves my skin nice and moisturised.
All in all, this is a good bath product that I would definitely recommend to everyone.
