Advantages: Glorious smell, skin comforting and easily absorbed
I bought a range of Sanctuary travel size products for my recent holiday. In theory to cut down on what my husband feels is an excessive amount of luggage, but in reality it was an excuse to try some new products.
Sanctuary is a famous spa and they make a range of body products that you can use at home and although I haven't tried this before, I have been pleased with the other products I have used in the range, so I expected to like this as well.
I bought this in a travel size and it comes in a 50ml plastic pot with the distinctive orange Sanctuary lid on a cream pot. Instructions in the tiniest of writing are attached on a peel off sticker on the bottom, but I could not read them , so can't tell you what they say.
To be honest I don't think the packaging does justice to the brand as it feels and looks quite basic, perhaps it helps to keep the price point down, so better for us.
Is a creamy white colour and quite rich but does not have as thick or buttery a consistency as a Body Shop Butter. It smells gorgeous , a very exotic spicy fragrance with some floral in there, quite hard to describe as I can't pin point a flower or plant to liken it to. It isn't a heavy scent despite it being exotic and I find it lingers on my skin quite a while after application.
It isn't a heavy body butter, but it feels like a rich cream and is easily absorbed into my skin. It doesn't take long to sink in, so minimum effort required to apply which I like. It leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated with a slight sheen to it . As it absorbs so quickly , there is no waiting around to get dressed and no stickiness or residue on the skin.
It contains Cocoa Butter, Shea Butter, Sweet Almond Oil, Macadamia Oil and Vitamin E, all of which are known for their hydrating properties.
Would I Recommend?
I love the scent of this and the texture which manages to be light yet hydrates my skin. It is easily absorbed so great if you are in a rush and I think it is a good price. I have used this with my Molton Brown Heavenly Gingerlily bath products and it doesn't clash. I will buy the shower products next time as it is curremtly my favourite body moisturiser .
I have very dry skin and suffer from psoriasis so I should moisturise my body at least twice a day , which is very time consuming and a pain. This actually makes the chore so much more pleasurable as it is a nice quality, consistency and lovely aroma. I don't seem to use a lot and it goes on quickly so a bonus for me especially on work days when I am pushed for time. It also does not irritate my senstive skin nor does it sting when I apply on areas I have scratched.
I paid under £3 for the travel size but full size is £9.50 for 300ml. I got mine on 3 for 2 at Boots, so I will stock up next time they have an offer on.
5 stars from me , I love everything about it.
Summary: A light body butter that delivers great hydration
