The Sanctuary Body Moisture Spray
Advantages: scent, quality, soft and soothed skin, packaging
Disadvantages: quite expensive for a small amount, hate the feeling of applying it
This body spray is part of the Sanctuary Spa Daily Spa body care range. This range of products is quite extensive and you can choose from a whole selection of similar scented products.
This body spray is enriched with Vitamin E to nourish the skin. It also contains sweet almond oil and jojoba. It is important that you check before purchasing if you have allergies. Sanctuary Spa claim that this body spray is 'deeply moisturising' and can be sprayed on the go to keep skin refreshed and hydrated as well as a healthy sheen.
This body spray is available in two sizes - a regular size and a travel size. Each bottle is made of clear plastic with a frosted label and an orange spray cap. The design is simple and practical. I own the travel size bottle which can be recycled and has an 18 month shelf life from first use.
~Where To Buy~
You can currently purchase this body spray from www.boots.com and instore. The Boots website offers the 50ml size for £2.50. The 150ml size is available from www.sanctuary.com for £5.50 and the smaller size is £2.40.
I received my small bottle of this body spray as part of a Sanctuary Spa gift set. My Mum speaks highly of Sanctuary Spa products and I must admit that I have had mainly positive experiences with any of the products I have tried from this brand. My body spray is the perfect size for transporting in my handbag though I personally prefer to keep this at home as I find it more practical for using at home. I favour a regular body spray for when I am out and about but this is personal choice really.
This body spray is lovely to apply after drying off after a hot shower and I sometimes use it as a replacement for body butter or lotion as it is quick and easy to apply. The liquid itself looks like water inside the bottle and I haven't had any issues with it being dispensed effectively through the spray top. A quick push down on the spray top releases a beautifully fine mist of liquid on to my skin. Sanctuary Spa say that your skin should feel 'refreshed' but I find that this spray is so light on my skin that I don't notice any cool, refreshing benefits. The spray settles on my skin like a dry oil and needs to be gently rubbed over the skin to encourage it to absorb fully. I personally do not like rubbing this in to my skin as it feels weird because it is essentially an oil. I find that it leaves my fingers feeling funny and I need to wash them quickly after rubbing this spray in to my skin.
I normally apply this body spray to my arms, tummy and shoulder area. I find that with a very light rub, this body spray absorbs quickly in to my skin and leaves a healthy sheen behind. Whilst my fingers feel weird, the areas I have applied the body spray too feel incredibly soft and smooth. I apply this to my arms, tummy, legs and shoulder area and find that it hydrates my skin beautifully. It sinks in and deeply moisturises my dry skin leaving it feeling soothed and calm. The results are long lasting and are evident after 12 hours or so. This body spray has a pleasant smell which I associate with Sanctuary products. It is warm, sweet with a spicy undertone. It smells lovely on my skin and lasts for several hours. I find that this scent is perfect of the colder months and it matches the body lotion in the range so could be used as a layering scent.
I like this body spray as it leaves my skin looking, feeling and smelling great. As I said, I don't find it practical for applying 'on the go' as it needs rubbed in more than other body sprays that I use but it is perfect for using post-shower and I often apply it before bed to lock moisturise in to my skin. I find this spray to be of a high quality and it is very kind to my sensitive skin. It is effective at moisturising dry skin and can be used all over the body (excluding the face). It isn't a cheap product but 50ml lasts incredibly well due to how fine the mist is and how little is needed each time. I can highly recommend this body spray.
