Most parents will have at some point experienced a conversation a little like the following .
Parent : Have you brushed your teeth?
Child : Not Yet
Parent: Well, go and do them?
Child: OK
*10 seconds pass*
Child: Mummy, I've done them!
Me and my daughter (6) used to have this conversation every day, twice a day. Try as I might I couldn't get her to understand that brushing your teeth properly takes time .
So, I'd read a couple of reviews about these, and decided to nip out and buy one, picking one that played the Scissor Sisters - I don't feel like dancing, which is a song my daughter currently loves. It cost me 7.99, which isn't too bad really.
It send vibrations that make the music play through your teeth so you can hear it, although I can hear it without it being in my daughters mouth, just by pressing it onto my finger - my daughter has yet to learn that trick though With the song clips being timed at 2 minutes, the recommended brushing time, I can be satisfied she's getting a good clean - several in fact, as she's taken to using it even after snacks!
Its recommended for ages 7 and up - my daughter uses hers under my supervision, although there is a Tooth Tunes Junior for ages three and up, my daughter wouldn't have appreciated the music on that one - If you're happy and you know it .
Its available in other colours and with other songs - I remember seeing on the shelf Destinys Child and Mcfly. I'd definately recommend it for children who don't normally like brushing their teeth, or who maybe aren't so good at timing it . Its fun, and it works .
