Vitint Safe & White Whitening Brush 1.8ml -

We all flick through magazines and see the celebrities with their faultless smiles. Everyone on tv seems to have brilliantly white teeth and we think to ourselves, I wish my teeth could look like that.

There are lots of products around that claim to whiten your teeth. There are a vast array of toothpastes, gels, home whitening kits and there is the option of paying someone a small fortune to give you perfect teeth.

Now I am one of those people that would like beautiful teeth, unfortunately being a student my budget won't stretch to a couple of hundred pound to have it done properly. I came across Vitint Safe & White Whitening Brush. At the time I bought it there was a special offer on. I bought this in boots. It cost me £9.95 but I think the usual price is £14.95. As far as I am aware the offer is still on.

This product claims to be safe for your tooth enamel and gums, and it is ok to use even if you have gum problems. They say that it does not contain peroxides or other aggressive ingredients. I don't know anything about 'the science bit' so I just have to take their word that it is safe for my teeth.

PACKAGING

The brush itself is approximately 5 inches long. It looks a bit like a medium sized felt tip pen. The packaging is blue with white writing. It has a clear lid which covers the brush. The bristles of the brush are quite thin and white.

It comes in plastic packaging which took me a while to get into. When I cut the plastic to get into it I accidentally cut through some of the instructions so take care when opening.

INSTRUCTIONS AND APPLICATION

The instructions are very clear and easy to follow. You don't have to know any dentist terminology. You are provided with a tooth chart showing a spectrum of shades of white/cream, so you can follow your progress.

Before applying you must clean your teeth thoroughly and make sure they are dry. You have to twist the bottom of the brush to make the gel appear on the bristles. I kept turning and turning but nothing seemed to be happening. I then felt the brush and realised I had far too much on there. The gel is clear so is not very easy to see. When you have the right amount on the brush you apply a layer to each tooth working the brush up and down. When this is done you have to wait about a minute for it to dry. You have to pull a funny face to keep your lips away from your teeth which is a bit of a nuisance. During application I found I was salivating a lot and needed to have a tissue handy so make sure you are prepared.

When it is dry you are advised not to eat or drink anything for about half an hour after, so make sure you have a drink first. This must be repeated twice a day and they say your teeth can be made up to 5 shades whiter after only 1 week.

Although it may sound like a bit of an effort to use this brush I was really pleased with the results. After only a couple of days I noticed a difference, they were probably about 2 - 3 shades whiter. My sister even said they were looking better!

VALUE FOR MONEY

For me £9.95 was a lot of money to pay, however I am so pleased I did, because in all honesty I didn't hold much hope. In comparison to other products on offer it wasn't that expensive and it does work so worth a try.

Good review, I'm also a student but couldn't afford to have this luxury item...as i'm sure it could only be a temporary solution and would have to be done daily along with your usual routine each day..... x

Thank you for adding that, although I'm not sure it's worth paying that much for such a relatively small improvement (unless your teeth are pretty white in the first place).
