I buy my treacle Moon products from Tesco and they are a nice animal friendly company that make great reasonable priced beauty and pampering products that I can sneak into my grocery shop so no one notices I have bought yet another bath product!!
The blurb for this says "I'm going to a faraway place she said... just for a while... her toes wriggled in the warm sand and a silly seagull laughed and danced in the sweet wind."
I like the upside down plastic recyclable tube and it is easy to get the stuff out and it all goes to the open end so still easy when product is nearly finished. It is simple and yet modern and quirky packaging so it does stand out on a shelf too.
I bought this from Tesco for about £2. It usually retails at £2.95. They are often on special offer so it's worth waiting until then to buy this.
I love coconut as it reminds me of sun cream and holidays so the smell is what attracted me to this one. I have the shower gel too.
The scrubby bits are very effective I tend to use this on my elbows and legs as it is quite scrubby for my face , I do give my upper arms a good scrub as it tones as well as stimulates the blood to the skin's surface and makes the cellulite stay away a bit.
This Treacle Moon company operates under the umbrella company called Blue Orange. Thy have lots of beauty experience as they also created and managed brands such as The Sanctuary, Nicky Clarke, Umberto Giannini, Elle Macpherson and Normandie.
I always find it interesting that different brands are often part of other branded companies that have very different products. Some of those other names are very expensive brand names compared to Treacle Moon so they are obviously in good company.
If you like coconut fragrance and like a bargain then check this brand out. they have other fragrances as well as the coconut. The other scents they do are The Vanilla Moment ,The Raspberry Kiss, One Ginger Morning and Those Lemonade Days.
They do shower gel, body butter, scrubs and hand cream and handwash so plenty of products there to try all at decent prices and easily available while grocery shopping!
WHAT IS IT?
This is a body scrub that is made by Treacle Moon. It is coconut fragranced and you can buy matching shower gel also.
This scrub comes in a tube and I like that because I think tubes are easier to handle when you are in the shower than tubs and bottles. The hole in the tube is quite large so it dispenses the scrub quick but the scrub is thick so it will not come out unless you squeeze the tube.
WHAT I THINK
This is a very pleasing scrub to use and it is one that I would use for my daily shower because the effects are quite mild and it is not an intensive scrub like I would use when I am giving my body a thorough clean and polish. It is very good for removing daily dirt and makes my skin feel alot cleaner than if I just used shower gel.
I do not know what the exfoliating granules are, they feel like salt but in a sweet coconut smelling scrub like this I would think Treacle Moon would use a sugar but I cannot tell easily. They work nice and do not scratch my skin, they feel like they are being very cleansing and I like the amount of scrub granules that I get with each application of this scrub.
The smell lingers for quite a long time on my skin and that is good but I think it mixes with my perfume too much and that is not always suited to the fragrance I am wearing. I like to use this in the morning and if I want to wear one of my perfumes that does not smell nice mixed with faint coconut then I use another scrub and that is a pity, I do like the strong coconut smell in the shower though so I think I am not easily pleased with this!
I buy my Treacle Moon produce from Tesco and there this tube of scrub costs £2.99. It is a 225g tube and lasts for a long time because you do not have to use very much for every time you have a shower.
5 Dooyoo Stars.
Treacle Moon range
I have tried a few Treacle Moon products in the past and always liked them, so I was very pleased to receive this from Father Christmas last year. This costs £3.03 from the Treacle Moon website, but I would recommend purchasing these products from Tesco, which stocks the range. Although only a few pence cheaper at £2.99, the range is frequently on offer.
This comes in a clear tube that sits on its lid. Inside you can see that the contents are pure white, with lots of visible dark particles. I liked this as I do like my scrubs to actually scrub and this seemed promising!
A lovely sweetness
I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with coconut scented products. Sometimes they just don't quite work for me, and I can find the scent a bit unpleasant. However, sniffing this before I used it in the shower, I really liked the fragrance. It is quite sweet and, although is is most definitely a coconut scent, it has a slight fruitiness to it that I really like.
Dispensing a small amount of this into the shower, I was pleased at how rich and creamy it was. It has a nice thickness to it which makes it easy to apply to the skin, and you can give yourself a good scrub without the product sliding or dripping off. It really feels like it is exfoliating the skin, and because of the creamy texture it feels as though it is moisturising at the same time.
This washes away easily and definitely leaves skin feeling lovely and smooth and although I noticed that the smell lingered slightly, once I had used my shower gel this of course disappeared.
Overall I really like this scrub and would highly recommend it. It exfoliates nicely and moisturises skin at he same time, which is what I really want from any shower scrub. The smell is pleasant too. However I am going to take off one star as it isn't my dream scrub - I think this would have a more out and out fruity fragrance! I also think it may be a tad too harsh for sensitive skin.
