Advantages: Lovely smell, economical, big jar of soap, lovely colour
Disadvantages: Pump dispenser feels a bit cheap
I'm always on the lookout for new beauty products that I haven't tried, and especially those which look fairly pretty as well! My eye was immediately caught by this product when I was browsing for a new handwash for my bathroom in Tesco simply because of its gorgeous bright yellow colour and funky looking packaging! Even better was the fact it was on special offer so my huge 500ml bottle set me back only £1. I eagerly tried it when I got home and was so impressed with the handwash I went out and bought another one in a different fragrance!
Treacle Moon are a relatively new company, I haven't heard of them before I saw these products in Tesco. Apparently, Tesco is the only place that I can get these products in terms of shops but they are available online from their website as well although they do work out a little more expensively if you purchase them this way. They're owned by another company who have worked for Nicky Clarke, Umberto Giannini and The Sanctuary amongst others so you can rest assured these are high quality products at very affordable prices.
The handwash I picked up was called "These Lemonade Days" and is a bright yellow liquid inside a clear plastic bottle. This contains 500ml of the soap so should last quite a while. There is a black pump dispenser at the top which screws on and you can also lock by turning to the side as well, handy when you have toddlers who like to insensently pump it for no good reason down the plughole. The name of the product is in bold black lettering and really stands out, and there's a small verse on the front as well. It's a really funky looking bottle, and is one you will proud to have in your bathroom or kitchen alongside the sink.
When I first used the product, I couldn't believe what a gorgeous scent it had. Sometimes when you smell a product in the bottle it smells a lot stronger than when you use it, but it wasn't the case with this product. The yellow liquid was a good consistency, not too thick but not too runny either, and was a really bright yellow. I rubbed the handwash between my hands and the smell intensified which was great. It did create a good lather quite easily, which is good because we have hard water around here and I felt the handwash spread easily across both my hands. I only needed one pump and this was plenty for me, although for a stronger fragrance you could use more.
The smell lasted on my hands for a good while after as well which I think is very good. Some handwashes smell lovely but the scent disappears quite fast but not with this one. After I had rinsed it off and dried my hands on the towel, I could smell the fresh lemon scent, not as strongly as when I had the soap on my hands but still strong enough. It left my skin feeling really soft and not at all dried out, even with regular use it doesn't do my skin any harm. Harry also used this product when he needs to wash his hands and it's been fine on his young skin too which is good as I don't need to buy 2 separate products. I've found it very good at removing smells such as onion and garlic from my hands when I've been cooking as the lemon smell is nice and strong so its worth having one in your kitchen if you do a lot of home cooking too.
If you want a great soap that cleans your hands thoroughly and fully , and that comes with a funky bottle too, then head to Tesco and get yourself a bottle of 'These Lemonade Days'. The gorgeous yellow bottle won't be missed on your sink, and the smell will makes your hands nice and fresh, and soft too. It seems to be lasting well, with it only going donw a small amount despite 3 of us using it, perhaps as we only need 1 pump at a time. My only complaint is that the pump part might be a little cheap feeling and not that smooth, but its a minor irritation and doesn't stop us using the soap properly at all. I love this soap, and have purchased the Coconut variety as well which is just as nice. For the price, its a great soap and one I highly recommend.
Treacle Moon produce a handwash, shower gel and body scrub in each of the 5 varieties, priced between £2.47 and £2.97.
Other varieties include:
That Vanilla Moment
The Raspberry Kiss
One Ginger Morning
