Advantages: Cheap, no animal testing, lovely

Disadvantages: Only available from Tesco

There's nothing more boring than handwash you may think, let's face it most of the bottles of handwash out there are pretty bland. There's a new player in the market that makes washing your hands a little bit more fun. The handwash I am referring to is Those Lemonade Days from the Treacle Moon range.

The Treacle Moon products are only available in Tesco which is a bit of a pity as they are brilliant. The products are all cruelty free and the company supports a charity called Khandel which helps vulnerable Indian women. Normally you have to pay big bucks to get a product with these kind of credentials but my bottle of handwash cost just £2 for 500ml.

Treacle moon have a unique way of creating products as they are created by Charles Henry Nelson, a garden gnome and Matilda Fizzbucket a chemist who owns a cat with turquoise whiskers. This unlikely duo certainly have a talent for creating hadwash.

I love the fact that the handwash is bright yellow which contrasts nicely with the black pump dispenser, it does not match my bathroom decor but it certainly looks lovely and sunny and cheerful and makes you smile every time you see it.

Looking good is not much use unless the product also works well and I'm delighted to say that These Lemonade Days gets my hands squeaky clean. The yellow soap is reasonably thin and just a couple of pumps is ample to clean your hands. The soap smells utterly wonderful, a strong lemon smell which really does also smell fizzy. Many citrus fragrances can be a bit sour and harsh but this lemon is a lovely gentle and sweet smell, the first thing that it reminded me of when I smelled it was lemon meringue pie.

I have very dry skin and when I use the wrong products my hands get very sore and cracked so I'm always cautious about using new products but Those Lemonade Days manages to leave them squeaky clean and feeling nice and soft without irritating or drying them out at all. I've certainly given this handwash a run for it's money as my hands are always caked in dirt when I've done some weeding or planting and it copes brilliantly with even the grubbiest mitts.

I love Those Lemonade Days handwash, it smells divine, cleans my hands and makes me smile a little bit when I use it making it an affordable way to give yourself a little treat. At just £2 a bottle it's a real bargain. I'm trying out the other handwashes in the range right now but I know I will also buy this one again.

Summary: Brighten up your bathroom

I've not seen this one, but will be looking out for it next time I buy handwash from Tesco.

I tried the coconut one from this range and wasn't overly impressed - I wish I'd bought this one now!
