Advantages: Easy to use 'fun' in a jar

Disadvantages: Odd after taste and can smell really strong.

I was absolutely delighted when I met up with my very good friend, Kerrie last week and she'd bought me a present! It was nice seeming as it wasn't a birthday or anything and when I opened it to reveal a pot of this I was delighted. It was a product that in my head I had been trying to justifying buying and couldn't and I'd not mentioned it to anyone but I'd been looking to purchase it cheap on Ebay and never did it go cheap enough! So thrilled I really was!

The Packaging....

My jar came in a clear plastic box. On the top of the box in lilac writing I'm told it is Urban Decay Cosmopolitan and then on the bottom of the lid of the box I'm told it is 'sparkly sweet body balm, you can lick'. Then also in lilac writing on all three sides of the box I'm repeatedly told 'tastes like a cosmopolitan'. Then on the back of the box on lilac card I'm told 'Deliciously scented and flavoured this dreamy blend of a balm leaves you velvety smooth to the touch..skin looks and tastes intoxicating. Just smooth this ever-so-slightly shimmered body balm onto skin with its ultra-soft sponge, and get deliriously drunk on how silken your skin feels, the way it gorgeously glows, and the smell of paradise wafting through the air....indulge, and let your skin drink in this decadent treat'. I'm then told Urban Decay is 'beauty with an edge', given a list of ingredients and size of the product as I've already stated (80g). In very small writing on the bottom I'm told the line ' we don't do animal testing. How could anyone?' and that the product is made in China and a small black bar-code.

Before I forget I must mention although this is box looks really nice it's really hard to read the writing on the back of the box as it's all similar colour writing as it is to the colour it is written on! The jar is round and the base is clear plastic but a tough one. The lid is screw on/off and matt, blush pink with a sparkly clear large star in the middle. In pink I'm again told it is Urban Decay Cosmopolitan Flavoured Body Balm on the front. On the base there is a lilac sticky label and in black writing I'm told again what it is and contact details for Urban Decay and the size is stated again. Situated inside is a lovely very pale pink thin sponge with lilac stars on it and Urban Decay is written on the bottom. It's such a nice velvety sponge! Under that is the balm itself.

Using It....

Well upon opening it for the first time the first thing that will/should impress is you is the lovely jar. It's just so pretty and expensive looking. Then the second thing to amaze you will be the smell! Slightly fruity, sweet and almost like marzipan to my nasal passages. It smells rather sickly if you sniff it for too long as it is highly fragrant and it does smell edible, which of course it is!. Though saying that it's fine for a lick I'm sure no one on the planet would or could stomach this as a dessert!

The balm itself sits in the jar of course. The pot is almost full to the top, it's blush pink in colour, solid and none runny and shimmers. As you remove it you don't remove loads it comes off like a grease (like a hard hair wax) and you hardly remove any product you certainly don't dent it or anything. Of course you can use whichever method you wish to apply it to your body but the sponge in my view is the easiest and less messy way.

Wipe sponge over the product and it activates the smell more. Then simply wipe it over your body, particularly areas you want to be kissed as this tastes! Suitable for... er.... bedtime use in the main or out to tantalise you man with! I haven't got a man sadly lol

It slides on skin easy. You don't need much for smell or taste and because this is so strong smelling less is more in my view. It's not sticky and the shimmer doesn't really transfer off. I mean you do get a little transfer particularly if you keep touching yourself it gets on your fingers etc. As for clothes I haven't had much of a problem but it does wash out on 40c anyway.

So the shimmer... yes it really gives one. Slightly pink and silver and not in your face it's subtle. Looks fabulous on a tan or people with olive skin though I'm the palest person I know and it still twinkles on my skin beautifully and gives me a healthy glow If you look at it hard enough it does look like it contains really tiny particles of glitter but I'm not sure if it does cos it's edible!

Taste.... Yes it tastes too. With this it tastes better than it smells in my opinion. It tastes sweet likes sweets really not the drink as promised and I have downed a few cosmopolitans in my time lol. It leaves an odd after taste that lasts a while. The problem with this is although it smells lovely your not going to get people licking you unless you tell them to really are you? It could be anything!

The smell on the skin is pleasant enough but to me is a slight drawback. Not only do you have to be really careful what you mix this with on the scent front but also be very careful trying to get someone to lick you if your wearing perfume as well it could be vile lol

Skin feels soft enough though remember that in the main that this isn't really a moisturiser it's just a little pot of fun. You can of course wear it for party time just to create a bit of glam, it's great on shimmer on the decoltage and arms in particular.

Overall....

I really like it used in moderation. Too much and it smells awful. Little bit is great! All I need now is a man or some great parties to go to!

No idea how much this costs but it is available in Boot's and on line!

Summary: Best kept in the bedroom!
