This is one, of three, products in their 'Essential Range' to absorb quickly because of it's non- greasy formula to leave your skin healthy and hydrated throughout the day.
For me this is one of the very few ranges that really do help your skin and is trustworthy to deliver what it promises.
Out of the three products, this is the one I prefer because the scent is so light and fresh and overwhelming. If I chose to put a perfume on it won't overshadow it unlike the Cocoa butter -brown bottle, in this range.
Using a generous amount of cream is okay because it sinks in and absorbs very quickly leaving my skin feeling soft and protected throughout the day. I felt he difference in the calmness of my skin and the coolness the Aloe Vera provides and that really impressed me because I'm quite busy throughout the day and tend to forget if my skin is dry to take time out to replenish my skin but this lasts all day so I felt confident and with the scent it was a bonus.
i have a million and one different moisturising creams, lotions and potions, because I suffer from dry skin and am always trying new things. Hubby gets more than a little frustrated at the sheer number of half empty tried and tested bottles I have in the bathroom cabinets! This one is rarely left behind though because I really like it.
What Is Good About It?
Firstly, the thing that I like most about it and the thing that drew me to it, is the smell. It is a fabulously fresh smelling moisturising lotion that puts you in mind of warm summer days when you wear it which is perfect all year round in my opinion because it makes you reminisce about the lovely summer in winter and makes you feel fresh in summer itself. It has an aqua sort of smell that is light and not at all overpowering so is suitable for all day use and even applying before bedtime.
The mosituriser itself contains aloe vera which I think makes my skin feel really soft. I find that I do need a good dollop of it to cover my skin, because it isn't the thickest, but the results are excellent all the same.
What's Not So Good About It?
It isn't suitable for your face, which might seem obvious because it is a body lotion, but I find that most are suitable for your face too. This one isn't because it is a bit too thin and it doesn't really give my dry facial skin the moisture that it needs. I also find that it can sting a little bit on the sensitive areas of your face.
It isn't the cheapest product on the market either at more than five pounds for a 400ml bottle. It's not ridiculously expensive, but considering that a little doesn't really go a long way, it is not particularly good value for money.
I do like the product and the things that I like about it I really like, the problem for me is that I have found the supermarket own brand version of the same thing and I think that it is just as good and it has the added bonus of being half the price. So whilst I do like this, I would only recommend it if you really want to pay a bit extra for the Vaseline brand name.
Vaseline claims that this lotion leaves your skin feeling light and fresh. The lotion absorbs quickly without leaving your skin feeling greasy. It contains pure aloe + stratys 3 which gives you multi-layer moisture at the top, core and even the deep down layers of skin. Vaseline has a huge range of skin care products and has been caring for skin since 1870. The lotion comes in a plastic bottle which is a light green colour which represents that this is an Aloe product from their range. The bottle is quite flat but holds 200ml of the light feeling lotion. The lid to the bottle is a slightly darker green colour and this flips back to reveal a small hole in which the lotion dispenses out of. When squeezing the bottle very slightly to smell the product I can smell a lovely fresh, aloe scent which smells lovely. On the back of the bottle it tells you a little about the product and how to apply it. It also lists the ingredients as well.
This product is available from Boots and Superdrug stores for £2.99 for a 200ml bottle.
USING THE PRODUCT:
I sometimes use this after a bath as I find it helps in moisture. After patting my skin dry I flipped open the lid and squeezed a small amount of the lotion into the palm of my hand. The lotion is white in colour and looks slightly glossy. The cream felt slightly cooling on my skin and it felt nice and soft. I could smell the lovely fresh scent of the product which I loved. I continued to apply this all over my body. The lotion didn’t irritate my skin or make the eczema patches which I have feel sore at all. I like that the lotion felt nice and light on the skin and didn’t take too long to soak in. In the morning my skin felt nice and soft but the scent of the product could no longer be smelt. My skin didn’t feel as soft as it would if using something such as body butter, but it still felt moisturised.
I like to use this lotion before getting dressed in the morning because it does feel light on my skin and it absorbs quite quickly so that I can get dressed shortly after applying it. I love the fresh scent that the lotion has to it and when applying it to my skin I also like that the lotion feels slightly cooling, which would make it a great lotion for using in the summer. The packaging to this product is very simple but you can clearly see it’s a Vaseline product. I did find the product moisturising although not as moisturising as thicker lotions or body butter. In terms of value I think the lotion is very reasonable. If you like to use a nice light lotion with a gorgeous fresh scent then I would definitely recommend this one.
I bought this body lotion a while ago when I'd run out of what I was using and I happened to spot this on a good offer (I can't remember what the offer was!) in my local Morrisons. The usual price is around £4.69 for the 400ml bottle, or £2.99 for the 200ml bottle.
The packaging is nice, it stands out on the shelf and I think it looks quite high quality despite being a pretty cheap option. The bottle is opaque, so you can't easily see how much is left, which is annoying, but it has a flip top lid which makes it easy and convenient to use.
The lotion is on the runnier side, but it's not so runny that it becomes difficult to use. It feels very fresh and cool when applied to the skin, and it feels smooth and creamy. It is really easy to spread over the skin and because of it's runny consistency a little goes a long way.
The lotion sinks in pretty quickly and it doesn't feel sticky or greasy. It feels really light on my skin and doesn't leave a residue. I don't feel like it's clogging the pores in my skin like heavier lotion can, and it doesn't sweat off when I get hot.
I find this lotion does a great job at moisturising my skin and keeping it feeling soft and supple. For particularly dry skin I would still use something richer, but for everyday moisturisation it does a fantastic job. My boyfriend has also been singing it's praises after using it to calm his sunburn. He said it's actually better than the aftersun lotion he used to use!
All in all I think this is a great body moisturiser and good value too. Highly recommended.
I have suffered with the skin condition eczema for a big chunk of my life and to be honest I am starting to get sick of slathering myself in thick, gloopy body butters and moisturisers everyday.
As my eczema isn't too bad at the minute and is on its way to healing I decided to buy a more lightweight moisturiser and when I saw the Vaseline body lotions on offer I decided to buy a couple to try. One of the fragrances that I decided to buy was the aloe fresh one. I bought this because I thought it sounded like quite a fresh and gentle smell and quite summery too, and I thought it would make a bit of a change as I usually buy fruit fragranced moisturisers.
I bought my 200ml bottle of it from Tesco and I paid £1.80, which the retail price usually being £3 - it was on offer, and I think even at the full price it is good value. The bottle that it comes in isn't the nicest in my opinion. It reminds me a little bit of a shampoo bottle rather than a body lotion but the bottle doesn't effect how it effects my skin so obviously I won't mark it down for this. The bottle for this fragrance, the aloe Vera fragranced one is green and it has a slight glossy tinge to it and it stands upright.
It is a medium sized bottle and doesn't take up very much room at all. It has a flip top lid and though it is quite solid, it is squeezable which I like as it means I can get ver last bit out of it. The lotion itself comes out of the opening of the top very easily as it is a thin consistency. I usually use thick moisturisers so the very thin consistency was a bit off putting at first but I actually prefer it. It spreads easily over my skin and feels a lot lighter, not like its clogging my pores!
The texture is silky with a little wetness but this doesn't stay on my skin and it sinks in quickly and the slight damp residue soon dries. As soon as i apply it my skin feels lovely and it has a cooling sort of effect, meaning that i will definitely be using it during the summer too. Only a couple of small blobs is needed for each of my arms and a slightly larger couple of blobs for each leg and thigh. The smell as I expected is very fresh and it smells like aloe vera with a slight sweet hint to it which is pleasant and it smells reasonably natural.
After using this my skin always feels freshened up and moisturised and it never looks greasy or sticky afterwards. One thing that I am not keen on though is if you squeeze the bottle too hard then it will come pouring out so you need to remember to squeeze gently! It is good slide though as the moisturising effect is long lasting so I only need to use it twice a day and my skin feels soft and moisturised all day long. I have had my bottle of it since the weekend (six days) and have used it everyday and the bottle still feels sure full. I would definitely recommend this body lotion.
I do like Vaseline products and as a range, I generally find that they are quality products and they are always excellent value for money. I shop around for such things as body lotions and potions and I only ever buy them from the supermarket if I can find them on offer. More often than not, I buy my body lotions and general face moisturisers from Home Bargains or even Poundland where they are massively cheaper than in the larger supermarkets.
I bought a bottle of Vaseline Aloe Fresh Body lotion for only £1.29 from Home Bargains. The green plastic bottle contains 200ml and this same size bottle costs just over £2 in Sainsbury's last time I looked. This size bottle lasts me for ages and I am just over one third of the way down now on my current bottle and this is the third one I have bought.
I have used a lot of moisturisers and body lotions from Vaseline previously and they have all been very good. The trouble is, however, that a lot of them are also quite intense and feel heavy and thick on my skin. The reason I bought the Aloe Fresh one was because the bottle describes it as being light and for everyday use and also I liked the smell of it when I sniffed it in the shop.
I use this moisturiser just about every evening during the week after my shower. I don't use it at weekends, I'm not sure why this is really, I just use a different, more intensive body lotion after I have had a bath and prefer to keep to a lighter one after my weekday showers. This lotion is white in colour and very thin, perhaps too thin really, as I have to be a little careful when squeezing it out of the bottle as it can easily run between my fingers before I've managed to get it onto my legs. I've often managed to drip this onto the bedroom floor when applying it.
The lotion sinks into the skin right away, with no hanging about. I love this light lotion, as it leaves no film or residue on the top of my skin after application. It works really well on the driest parts of my body, such as my knees and elbows and shins. I use more on these areas but there has been a definite and noticeable difference to the look, feel and quality of my skin since I have been using this particular lotion. I also apply it to the chest and neck area and I feel that it's not only hydrated my skin, but it's also plumped it up slightly and given it a bit of a younger and fresher appearance.
It smells light and fresh and ever so lightly floral. The smell doesn't last long after application, however, but really I don't mind this as it is the moisturising effects I'm after, more than the fragrance.
Overall, I have nothing greatly negative to say about this product apart fro the fact that it is on the runny side, but I can live with that. As an all over body moisturiser, it's fantastic and does a wonderful job. I really love this lotion and I really do highly recommend it.
I am not a huge fan of body lotions/butters/creams, however I do like to moisturise my legs after shaving to prevent them from becoming itchy and to prevent any rashes that I am prone to getting by scratching. I purchased this Vaseline Aloe Fresh lotion to do the job!
Vaseline is a well known and respected brand. This lotion comes in a green bottle with the Vaseline logo, the name of the product and a picture of some aloe vera. The bottle has a flip top lid and when you open the lid, the first thing you notice is the smell of the product. The product is instantly recognisable as an aloe vera smell. I also think I can smell a hint of cucumber from the product, however there is no mention of cucumber on the packaging. The smell is strong enough to leave a mild scent on your skin, however it is not overpowering or sickening.
The product squeezes easily out of the tube. It is like the usual consistency of lotion, a bit thinner than a cream. The lotion is white in colour.
When applied to the skin, the lotion rubs in really easily. A small amount spreads to cover a large area of the body. If you imagine a size of a 50p, I use around this much lotion per leg when applying. The lotion is easily absorbed and dries quickly, which is a must have for me so I do not have to stand and wait for too long! The long lasting results of this lotion are that it leaves my skin feeling really smooth and soft, with no reside left behind.
At the minute this lotion is on offer in boots with one third of, so it costs just £1.86. The usual price is £2.79. I think this is a great lotion for such good value.
The product packaging claims that this lotion will leave your skin feeling light and fresh, and I think this is a claim that Vaseline can stand by.
Thanks for reading my review and I hope you found it useful.
NEW-VASELINE ESSENTIAL MOISTURE -ALOE FRESH LIGHT FEELING LOTION WITH PURE ALOE + STRATYS MULTI LAYER MOISTURE
I am a regular user of Vaseline products and always use Vaseline products as my basis for comparison before I buy any other lotions for my daily use. I like these products for their moisturising effect but not all of them are ideal for my skin, some tend to be rather greasy. Sometime in November 2011, I noticed a new range amongst the Vaseline body lotions, the "Essential Moisture" range and what interested me was the addition of pure natural plant products in these lotions, oats, aloe and cocoa. I wrote a review before on New-Vaseline Essential Moisture with pure oat extract + stratys multi layer body lotion. I tend to use this in winter due to its very rich moisturising effect.
This review is for the other version, New-Vaseline Essential Moisture aloe fresh light feeling lotion with pure aloe + stratys multi layer moisture body lotion.
Here goes my experience with this lotion.....
=Availability and Price=
The lotion is manufactured by Unilever and Vaseline® is just one of the product ranges they manufacture. The lotion is readily available in all high street supermarkets and pharmacies which sell toiletry. It is also available from online stores such as from Amazon.
In the UK, the lotion is available in 200 ml and 400 ml bottles. The price ranges are given below:
* 200 ml-----£2.00 to £3.00
* 400 ml-----£4.00 to just over £5.00.
At the time of writing this review, the lotion is on half price offer. I bought the 200ml for £1.35 (full price £2.70) from my local Tesco supermarket. Not bad when compared to other reputable lotions.
= Packaging and Visibility=
The lotion comes in a simple light green slightly flattened oval plastic bottle with a slightly darker green lid. This design and overall shape of the bottle is really good and well balanced so the bottle does not tip over. The bottle is also made of good quality plastic which is soft to press and also crack free. The lid operates on a Push-on Snap Hinge Closure system. So the lid is not a standard screw cap lid but comes in two components, the whole lid with another flip up cap attached to it by a hinge. The lotion is decanted from the bottle through a tiny nozzle and does not have a pump as with other lotions. The flip up lid fits and clips securely around the nozzle and is fairly flat and broad and the bottle can actually be left standing upside down on the lid and not the base.
*This is an advantage when the lotion is low level or about to run out. Standing the bottle on the lid allows the lotion to move towards the mouth of the bottle hence less energy is required for squeezing to release the lotion, also means less hassles of having to tilting the bottle and having to wait for the lotion to move down, especially when in a hurry. Crucially important in these hard financial times, this minimises the wastage as nearly the last drop which can come out of the bottle can be used.
**Note:-I wouldn't stand the bottle on the lid if there is still plenty of lotion usually more than half as the lotion will exert too much pressure and just a slight squeeze would see the lotion squirting all over under pressure.
Environment wise, there is no extra packaging with this lotion, it does not come packed in a box, so what you see is what you get. The bottled is also made of plastic which can be recycled which is a plus for the environment.
The lotion is very visible as it is a fairly new product on the lotion shelves. The container has pictorial images at the front of the natural extracts, in this case Aloe (full name Aloe Vera) and this offers the lotion a great stand-out on the shelf and specifically draws attention to those like me who love using lotions with natural ingredients. The label text really sticks out at the front with the word "New" clearly visible on a red background sticker and the usual Vaseline® trade mark logo on the usual blue background. I have noticed that some of the bottles do not have the "New" sticker on so seems to vary by batch. On the front side, the catching words "Essential moisture .......pure aloe + stratys 3 multi layer moisture" are clearly visible and further accentuated by the image of aloe vera plants. All the small print for the ingredients and other related information including the Unilever logo are printed on the other side of the bottle.
=Composition and Application=
The ingredients in the lotion seem well balanced. The lotion is a bit light and non greasy. It is creamish in colour and has a smooth non runny consistence compared to other lotions. The lotion pours out well from the bottle.
It is fairly easy to apply but a bit of massaging into the skin always gives best results. It is easily absorbed into the skin and leaves the skin with a refreshing light feeling. The lotion keeps the skin fairly moisturised throughout the day but without the greasiness associated with other lotions. Using it has saved my skin from dryness this summer. I just want my skin moisturised throughout the day and not glowing so this is just perfect for me.
The smell is nice, lightly fragranced with the fresh smell of aloe vera which can't be missed. The smell is not overpowering at all and the lotion is basically unisex so can be used by both gender although VASELINE® MEN® skincare line of products is also available specifically for men. The smell can also be masked by the smell of the perfume you decide to wear which is good so there is no clash in the smells.
Like everything associated with people, the lotion may not be suitable for everyone.
According to the manufacturer, this lotion leaves your skin feeling light and fresh and should result in a softer, smoother skin. I love the light feeling of this lotion on my skin especially in summer when it is rather hot and muggy. My skin feels good all the time.
The lotion is meant to be suitable for normal to dry skin which I perfectly agree with as it really has a fantastic moisturising effect. Essential Moisture lotion should leave your skin feeling healthy, soft and smooth.
**A bit of research: If you are like me you would wonder what the pure aloe extract and Stratys-3TM multi-layer moisture does for you.
Aloe Vera is renowned for its soothing and hydrating properties. In addition to this, the three powerful moisturising ingredients in Stratys-3TM, constitute a technology which is unique and enables the moisture to permeate deep down across multiple layers of the skin, (the top, core and deep down layers) resulting in superior moisturisation and healthy looking skin without the greasiness. The lotion is absorbed quickly and penetrates deeply, which feels good on the skin and does well for your skin.
**Did you know Vaseline has been caring for skin since 1870 and are still determined to continue doing so through the various improved lotions and other products they have developed over the years?...I think my skin care is in good hands.
I love this lotion I am glad it is readily available in most outlets at a reasonable price.
According to the manufacturer, this is one of the three Vaseline Essential Moisture Lotions which have been recently launched by Vaseline. See link below for more details.

I wanted a simple but effective lotion that didn't cost too much and that I could use liberally as an all over body lotion once I got out of the shower. I have so many different hand creams and lotions but not all of these are good for all over body moisture as they are either too expensive, too rich or too perfumed. For example, the Body Butters from the Body Shop are some of my favourites but it doesn't take too much use before these need replacing again so I tend to leave them for just a nice hand lotion. I recently bought a bottle of Vaseline Aloe Fresh hydrating body lotion as I have used lots of vaseline products in the past and know it to be a very good product and one that fit the bill in this situation perfectly.
Vaseline aloe fresh hydrating body lotion with aloe and cucumber is described as a light refreshing moisturiser. I bought it firstly because of the smell, I love anything with cucumber in it as I always find it quite a refreshing scent and this one is gorgeous, so light and sweet and not overpowering at all. You can also smell a hint of aloe as well, that nice plant herb extract smell. I love products with aloe in as it is such a good moisturiser and I find it always work with my skin.
On the back of the bottle Vaseline tell us that, "It is through our skins amazing sense of touch that we experience the world. But without care skin loses its natural moisture leaving it dry and reducing our sense of touch. Vaseline aloe fresh lotion with aloe and cucumber awakens the skin with a sheer, light burst of hydration and a fast penetrating conditioner leaving it smooth and refreshed."
The cream is white in colour and quite light, not too thick which I find is really nice for an all over body moisturiser as this makes it easier to smooth all over the body. It goes on really well and I find it soaks into my skin really quickly leaving a lovely scent. It makes my skin feel really soft and I find that softness does last all throughout the day.
A 200ml bottle costs just £2.71 from Boots and is a lotion I definitely recommend.
