I wanted a body moisturiser that was light enough to wear over the summer months and picked this up for around £2 from Boots. Vaseline claim that Aloe Fresh lotion leaves your skin feeling light and fresh, the light feel formula combines pure aloe and multi-layer moisture absorbing quickly, infusing moisture at the top, core and deep down layers, leaving skin hydrated. This can be purchased from Chemists, supermarkets and online and has an RRP of £2.79 for 200ml.
The green packaging depicts freshness and the light lotion is easily squeezed out of the bottle. The lotion smells strongly of Aloe Vera and cucumber, this fragrance is natural and fresh and not at all synthetic. The lotion is white in colour and light in consistency, like single cream. It is simple to smooth over the skin and is very cooling, ideal for summer months and sun-burnt skin. The lotion moisturises the skin instantly and is very refreshing, it absorbs within 30 seconds of being applied to the skin, so I don't have to wait to get dressed. The fragrance lingers, lightly on the skin for a few hours, but it is not strong so it will not clash with other fragrances that are worn on the body.
The effects of this lotion are long lasting, my skin still feels and looks moisturized at the end of the day.
I have been using this on and off for months and I have never experienced any irritation or redness from this product. I would estimate that with daily usage of this product, all over the body, a 200ml bottle would last around 4 weeks.
Overall, this is only a light moisturiser, so if you suffer with dry skin or are looking for a thick luxurious moisturiser then this isn't for you. I recommend this if you are looking a for a fresh, unisex, lightly moisturising product that everyone can use, then this is for you.
My skin seems to get dry really easily and so I make it part of my daily routine to moisturise. I have countless tubs of body butters and skin creams, with this been the latest addition to my collection. I am trying to reduce my spending on beauty products etc as I spend far too much, however I couldn't resist this as it was half price in my local Superdrug - reduced from £4.64 to £2.32 which I think is great value considering that you get 400ml of product in the bottle. The bottle reminds me of a shampoo bottle, it's tall and wide and you can tell that it contains alot of product which is why I was so pleased to get it half price - the bottle is big enough to last for quite a while. The bottle is green in colour - doesn't sound very attractive I know, however it's a very light shade of green and actually looks okay - with it been this colour it also makes men more likely to pick it up. I know it is a unisex product but my boyfriend isn't keen on picking up moisturisers in public unless they are very discreet. This is discreet in my opinion because of the simple colour and it looks like a shower gel or shampoo bottle. It has a sticker on the front with the brand logo on it (Vaseline) and the product name. Underneath this it simply says "body lotion with aloe and cucumber, light refreshing moisturiser." Then there is a little picture of Aloe Vera leaves. On the back it explains how underneath the surface, healthy skin is up to 90% water, and that most of us lose a around a pint of water and vital nutrients from our skin throughout each day. This is where this comes in - it is a moisturiser which helps to energize skin with aloe vera and cucumber extracts, ensuring the skin looks and feels healthy and hydrated.
The product is quite easy to get out of the bottle, it has a flip lid (green), which you just flip open and it exposes a hole in which the product is dispensed, and you just turn it upside down and allow a decent amount to gather in your hand and then rub it into your skin. Sounds simple I know, however there is a few flaws with this. Firstly the bottle is quite heavy when it is full, so people with weakness in their arms will struggle. Secondly the bottle is made of sturdy plastic and it is near impossible to squeeze, making it so that you have to wait for the product to come out/shade the bottle about to get it out. I think they should definetly make a pump version of the bottle, it'd be quicker to use and ensure that no product goes to waste - I have no idea how much is left in my bottle but it feels quite light so I will probably chuck it out soon as it's hard to get the product out, meaning that I am potentially wasting some of the moisturiser. Anyway, once the moisturiser is out it is quite wattery in consitency. Not to the point of been runny but wattery in comparrison with my usual moisturisers - it's not creamy or thick at all and has a very wet and somewhat greasy feel to it - it is definetly light though as Vaseline claim on the packaging. Another plus to the thin texture is that spreading it onto my skin is easy (it doesn't blob up) and it absorbs into my skin extraordinarily fast. Saying that though, I personally only use a small amount and make sure the layer of moisturiser is only thin to ensure that it doesn't leave any residue behind which is an issue if you use too much - it leaves an unpleasant wet and greasy feel to the skin.
I use this all over my body but mainly on my legs, knees and arms as they're the areas that get dry. It can also be used on the face but I prefer not to as I use a more expensive and luxurious moisturiser for my face and because this is scented I worry that it could break my skin out in spots (my skin is really sensetive, with the skin on my face been the most tempermental). It is absolutely fine on my body though and I do find that it is quite gentle - doesn't itch or anything like that, I guess i'm just picky about my skincare routine on my face lol. The smell is quite pleasant and it smells very refreshing, light and somewhat unisex. It does definetly smell of cucumber with an undertone that i'm guessing is aloe vera, and it has a strange sweet smelling undertone which I can't quite figure out. The smell does linger for around an hour or so, unfortunetly, I know that it sounds like a pleasant smell but the problem I have with the smell is that it smells like a body lotion if that makes sense. I am really self concious of this as I was sat on the bus on the way to work next to a stranger who turned to me and said "Can you smell body lotion?" lol. I was so embarrised! Also, it doesn't have a perfumery type scent so I find that it clashes with my perfume, so I have to make sure that I spray my perfume all over me before I get dressed to avoid smelling weird. I usually apply this in the mornings after a bath and it absorbs quite quickly ensuring i'm not hanging around waiting for it to dry. Once it's on my skin it makes me feel refreshed and gives a sort of cooling feel, which has a soothing effect meaning that this could be used after sunbathing or on sunburn. I wouldn't say it makes my skin feel softer but it does make it smoother and generally feeling slightly better, and by the time I get home after a busy day my skin still feels fresh and smooth.
Overall, I do think that this is a good moisturiser but it does have a few downsides such as the lingering smell and the bottle design but overall I give it 4/5 stars as it an effective moisturiser.
I wanted a simple but effective lotion that didn't cost too much and that I could use liberally as an all over body lotion once I got out of the shower. I have so many different hand creams and lotions but not all of these are good for all over body moisture as they are either too expensive, too rich or too perfumed. For example, the Body Butters from the Body Shop are some of my favourites but it doesn't take too much use before these need replacing again so I tend to leave them for just a nice hand lotion. I recently bought a bottle of Vaseline Aloe Fresh hydrating body lotion as I have used lots of vaseline products in the past and know it to be a very good product and one that fit the bill in this situation perfectly.
Vaseline aloe fresh hydrating body lotion with aloe and cucumber is described as a light refreshing moisturiser. I bought it firstly because of the smell, I love anything with cucumber in it as I always find it quite a refreshing scent and this one is gorgeous, so light and sweet and not overpowering at all. You can also smell a hint of aloe as well, that nice plant herb extract smell. I love products with aloe in as it is such a good moisturiser and I find it always work with my skin.
On the back of the bottle Vaseline tell us that, "It is through our skins amazing sense of touch that we experience the world. But without care skin loses its natural moisture leaving it dry and reducing our sense of touch. Vaseline aloe fresh lotion with aloe and cucumber awakens the skin with a sheer, light burst of hydration and a fast penetrating conditioner leaving it smooth and refreshed."
The cream is white in colour and quite light, not too thick which I find is really nice for an all over body moisturiser as this makes it easier to smooth all over the body. It goes on really well and I find it soaks into my skin really quickly leaving a lovely scent. It makes my skin feel really soft and I find that softness does last all throughout the day.
A 200ml bottle costs just £2.71 from Boots and is a lotion I definitely recommend.
I live in a tropical country and summer is fast approaching. Sunny heat and sunlight is felt everywhere and it's hard to avoid. As a result, my skin really gets dry and even gets irritated when exposed it. I've tried several brands of moisturizing cream and lotion however I feel much comfortable with Vaseline lotion, especially with Aloe Cool & Fresh variant. I really love the scent because it really smells so refreshing.
Why you should protect your skin?
Our skin is an organ that covers and protects the body from foreign invaders like bacteria and pollutants that can cause harm or diseases. The skin serves as barrier/shield thus protecting and keeping it healthy in return, is one's primary responsibility. When skin gets dry, irritated or damaged, we can be prone to infection. Proper nourishment and hydration is necessary to keep it healthy all the time, for the skin regenerates.
What Vaseline lotion can do?
Vaseline lotion contains ingredients such as vitamin B3 and plant derivatives for the skin to stay soft, smooth and moisturized. It's non-sticky and quickly absorbed by the skin leaving feeling cool when applied.
I usually apply this lotion after taking a bath because skin's natural moisture is lost after. However, I use product as often as needed especially after hand washing. A few drops of Vaseline lotion is enough to keep my skin healthy. I have been using this product for over a year now and no regret because I noticed a good result. My skin tone become lighter and smoother each time thus this gives me more confidence in carrying out my daily routines.
There are Vaseline Intensive Care Lotion product variants to choose from depending on your preference. These are the Healthy White Lotion, Total Moisture Lotion, Firming Lotion, Healthy Sunblock lotion, and my best pick, Aloe Cool & Fresh lotion.
For me, healthy skin also means a healthy body. Keeping it healthy is one's ultimate responsibility. I'm glad that I discovered Vaseline and I love this brand. Caring for the skin doesn't always have to be expensive because Vaseline lotion is affordable. 200ml only cost £2.58 at Amazon.co.uk.
