Advantages: Smells nice, works well and is kind and mild to the skin
Disadvantages: Drying time!
When it comes to purchasing deodorants I'm a demon for it. I own about 15 at the moment and that isn't because I'm a smelly person without it, cos actually I'm not at all but I do have a fear of stinking of BO and as a regular gym user (with a load of hot men) the thought of stinking terrifies me lol.
Now me, well I like spray deodorants really. Ok with sprays you can get the dreaded white powder look but usually you don't get wet and/or sticky pits and I'd rather be powdery than damp when all is said and done lol! However I saw this on offer in my local Sainsbury's store the other day and decided to invest in it cos as a rule I do like the brand of Vaseline!
The Packaging:
50ml white container with a screw on/off lid to the bottom of it which protects the transparent and rather large roller ball underneath. The container shape is hard to describe really but it fits in the hand nicely and has ridges to it's sides for ease of grip and handling. On the front label in white and green writing I'm told it is Vaseline Intensive Care Anti-Perspirant Deodorant 'Active Fresh' With Skin Caring ProDerma. On the back label ingredients are listed, a diagram of how to use it is shown, size and the recycle symbol are displayed, there is a bar-code on there and I'm told it is a Unilever product. Peel back that label and contact details for Unilever are given and there is a warning on there and directions for use are given. Overall it's a nice, easy to use product that is plain in design and therefore looks functional and practical rather than eye-catching or owt.
Using It:
Well because the roller ball is to the bottom of it and you stand it upright every time you go to use this it dispenses the deodorant out very well. All you do of course is swipe the rollerball over your clean and dry armpits and allow it to dry before dressing... it isn't rocket science lol.
Now as I have said applying it is really easy and very fuss free really. The rollerball is flexible and rolls easily and out comes a thin layer of a slightly creamy looking liquid that sort of smells 'green'. It's has a slightly sweet smell but none distinctive and in my opinion men and women alike could use this if they wanted to.
Because it's quite a thick liquid and you can see this when you use it on the skin and it takes a few minutes or so to dry (or you'll get residue everywhere) this is a huge negative for many of us of course and I include myself in that! It goes on smooth and hydrating and when dry armpits really do feel slightly hydrated, none sticky and smell nice and that smell stays delicately on the skin for a good few hours.
I find this to be a none sticky and a kind to the skin formula that gives great protection. I find this keeps me not only feeling comfortable for as long as it's on me but that it gives me hours of being BO free even if I go out jogging or pumping iron on the gym. It's reliable and effective and I've had this on my pits for a good 16 hours before now and they've still felt fresh no matter what I do! However like I have mentioned the drying time of this takes a long time and I usually apply it very sparingly and wipe it into my skin with my hands if I'm in a hurry! So gets 1 star for that I'm afraid!
For me it's just a deodorant I can pick up, use and not give much thought to (apart from the drying time!) and I recommend it even to use straight after shaving said armpits as it's so kind but so strong just add drying time lol.
I paid a pound for mine whilst it was on offer in Sainsbury's but expect to pay in the region of about £1.63 in all good supermarkets and chemists.
Summary: Shame about the drying time this takes otherwise it's great!
