Advantages: Moisturises dry skin with easy.
Disadvantages: None.
I suffer terribly from dry skin, and in my time I have tried many many different moisturisers. I used to try which ever one was on offer in Tescos or which ever fancy one I got given for Xmas. Each one seemed to have a few good points, but overall was just OK. When the time came round that Vaseline Intensive Care Dry Skin Lotion was on special offer I gave it a go.
I wasnt feeling enthusiastic about this product. I use Vaseline itself a lot on my lips and think it is fantastic, but with the name Vaseline in the title of this product it gave me images of think and greasy, just like putting Vaseline itself on my legs! I couldnt have been further from the truth!
Vaseline Intensive care comes in a plastic bottle with a flip on and off lid that you can then sqeeze the product out of. I have to say I favour this over a tub that you have to stick your hand in as it means you dont get thick gloopy cream stuck under your nails.
The consistency is quite thin and watery, which sounds bad, but its not as it doesnt leave your hands or skin feeling thick and greasy afterwards. It also means it rubs in nice and easily giving even coverage. If I have to get dressed quickly after I put it on I apply and thin coat and it soaks in quickly. If I have a while before I have to put clothes on then I layer it on thickly and let it go in of its own accord, this is much more moisturising for your skin.
The cream is a light colour and doesnt stain any sheets or material that you might get it on. It also has a very non offensive neutral smell, so you do not feel like everyone can smell when you put it on and when you dont!
I would definitely recommend this for moisturising dry skin. I cannot fault it and have not yet found anything better.
Summary: Worth purchasing if you have dry skin.
